Strict 7-Day Deadline for Solving Illegal Immigration Crisis
Picture courtesy: Siam Rath Thailand's law enforcement is ramping up efforts to curb illegal immigration by implementing seven stringent measures, aiming for tangible results within seven days. This comes directly from the Chief of Police, who warns that any official found complicit or negligent will face serious consequences. Effective immediately, the Royal Thai Police are intensifying their actions against illegal immigrants, unlawful gangs, and cross-border crimes. General Kitirat Phanpet, Thailand National Police Chief, has outlined a comprehensive strategy to address these issues efficiently. The measures include enhanced screening processes before individuals enter the country, increased security checks at airports and border crossings, and more robust surveillance at strategic checkpoints. Authorities will also scrutinise accommodation establishments and popular tourist destinations for illegal activities and conduct proactive inspections of transport stations and rest areas. In response to these enhanced security protocols, from 20th to 24th January, authorities have already rejected 10 high-risk individuals at airports and denied 47 requests for extended stays in Tak province. Additionally, 92 cases of visa overstays were addressed, involving nationals from countries such as China and Indonesia. The crackdown continues with inspections and arrests in various border areas, including the capture of Myanmar nationals caught illegally crossing the Moei River. By employing advanced technology and establishing rigorous patrol routines along all border regions, the police are determined to maintain the country's security standards for tourists and residents alike. Cooperation with specialised crime centres will strengthen this initiative, ensuring round-the-clock monitoring and seamless international collaboration to combat human trafficking and other illegal activities. General Kitirat has made it clear that any officer failing in their duty or implicated in corrupt practices will face administrative, disciplinary, and criminal actions. The message is unequivocal: the time for strict enforcement is now, and results are expected within the week, reported Siam Rath. -- 2025-01-27 -

HELP! What exactly is needed to take my Thai daughter out of Thailand and to the USA?
To be neat and tidy. You need the child’s mother to sign over sole custody to you in the Children’s Court be you married or not. I wasn’t. You need the child’s Thai and American passports Thai for departing and US on arrival and as in my case because the Airline and Immigration can be difficult I luckily persuaded the child’s mother to come to the airport as well just in case. Basically there is only one way to do this. The Airline was particularly unhelpful and created an unnecessary issue. As a previous poster stated the Airline must make sure the child has a US passport or Visa. My advice is don’t cut corners do it right and that entails the mother agreeing. The Childrens Courts are there to do what’s best for the child primarily. -

If you are a British Citizen and live in Thailand and advised and gt payment of the UK state pension t Thailand . The radon you not get any increase is that British Government FREEZE your pension (so you will not get any increase every from the time you Ave devised them you are residents inThailand ) This because there is NO agreement between Thailand and UK There are over 70 plus countries onnn a list that the British Government have and if you are entitled to a UK pension but reside or a resident in any of those countries on that list .Then from the time you get te ensio awarded to you and paid at what every amount you are entitled to .The result is yu will for every going forward only receives that amount with NO increases every for the rest of your life. So if you re intitled to say GBP 600 er month ,then this amount will every change for the future and rest of your life. Suggest to go o to the department of works and pension DWP web site in UK If your search for the list of countries FROZEN BRITISH PENSION ,you can see Thailnd o the list. Two Chinese Investors Arrested Over 10 Tonnes of Hazardous Electronic Waste in Chachoengsao
Picture courtesy of NRECD. Authorities in Chachoengsao raided a factory storing electronic waste contaminated with heavy metals, seizing over 10 tonnes of hazardous materials. Two Chinese nationals were arrested for possession of dangerous substances without proper authorisation. Police Colonel Arun Wachirasrisukanya, Deputy Commander of the Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Division (NRECD), along with Police Colonel Winyu Jaemsai, Superintendent of Division 2, and officials from the Department of Industrial Works, conducted the operation in Moo 9, Ko Khanun Subdistrict, Phanom Sarakham District. Initial investigations revealed 0.5 tonnes of shredded electronic waste contaminated with heavy metals, an additional 1 tonne of heavy metal-contaminated products, and 10 tonnes of separated hazardous waste. These items were seized as evidence. Authorities linked the incident to an earlier Customs Department operation, which intercepted 10 containers illegally imported into Thailand. Declared under false documentation, the 256 tonnes of electronic waste were smuggled in by a company operating in Phanom Sarakham District. Further investigations revealed a similar case on 5 January 2025, when a factory in Sri Maha Phot District, Prachinburi Province, was shut down by the Department of Industrial Works. That facility was found to have relocated its previously seized electronic waste to the Chachoengsao factory. At the scene, police identified Mr Li, 55, a Chinese national and factory manager, and Mr Guo, 43, also a Chinese national and the owner of the hazardous materials. Neither had the necessary permits to store such substances. Both men were arrested for “joint possession of Category 3 hazardous substances without authorisation.” During questioning, the suspects admitted to the charges and were subsequently handed over to the Phanom Sarakham Police Station for further legal proceedings. -- 2025-01-27
