It is necessary to separate the defense front and the victory front.

What is happening in Ukraine is the defense front. Modern warfare relies on drones. And drones are just money that was used to buy Chinese spare parts and assemble them. The economy of NATO countries is many times larger than the economy of Russia. Russia's competitors understand this perfectly well and hope to win this way. Russia does not need many soldiers on the defense front. It needs exactly as many to hold back the onslaught of NATO forces. If there are more soldiers, NATO will send exactly the same number of lost tourists who accidentally found weapons in the forest near the front lines. As a result, the front line will remain there, but more people will die.

What is a victory front for Russia? Dmitry Medvedev, Putin's closest ally, said this from the very beginning of the SMO. He said that Russia cannot lose because of its nuclear weapons.

Nuclear weapons are serviced by several tens of thousands of professional soldiers. This number is quite enough to win when the time comes.

That's quite a ramble.

Medvedev is a drunken lunatic.

Scaring the west with nuke threats is a key part of Putin's propaganda game. Emphasis on threats.

You have described very accurately what the Russian leader is doing. Putin is not going to use nuclear weapons. He is going to scare people using the media, but not only. Vlad knows that in one nation prone to excessive panic, there is, for example, the city of New York, where they have built tens of thousands of nuclear war shelters, saying that they are supposedly not afraid at all. Therefore, he will only scare America. There is no point in scaring war-hardened Europe.

Ukraine's drone pilots are overhauling which Russian targets they think matter most, and tanks have fallen far from the top

  • Ukraine's drone units updated their points system earlier this month to prioritize personnel hits.
  • A tank kill could earn 40 points in the past, but it now earns only eight per vehicle.
  • Russian drone pilots are now the highest priority target for the bonus program.

Russian tanks and rocket launchers used to be the most highly valued target for Ukrainian drones — but no longer.

Ukraine's drone forces recently revamped a points system that rewards pilots for battlefield kills, and it's putting the greatest emphasis on targeting Russian drone operators.

The system, created in August, previously placed the highest value on destroying artillery systems and tanks.

Yes, they did build tens of thousands of fallout shelters in New York - back in the 1960's.

As the article below points out, they have not been maintained since funding for them was stopped in 1970 and most are probably no longer fit for purpose (if they ever really were).

If a nuclear attack hits NYC, these fallout shelters won't protect you

Quote

Today, many of New York City's fallout shelters have been turned back into laundry rooms and other communal spaces that aren't meant to protect residents from a deadly attack. There’s no way of telling how many of these [shelters] still exist around New York City, besides consulting unofficial maps.

Fresh audio intercepts published by Ukraine’s military intelligence suggest Russian commanders are reviving a brutal wartime tactic: using troops to block retreats.

Known as “barrage units,” these forces reportedly fire on their own soldiers to stop them from fleeing. The method evokes chilling echoes of Stalin’s infamous Order 227.

The tactic is steeped in Soviet history. Stalin’s Order 227 in 1942 declared “Not a step back,” authorising executions of retreating troops.

Ukraine used long range drones to fly more than 200 miles to inflict the latest £148 million blow to Putin’s aerial firepower.

Ukraine’s SBU security service said: ‘The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces and the SBU used long-range drones to attack Russian fighter jets.

‘The attack also caused a fire in the technical and operational part of the enemy airfield, which is a critical infrastructure for a military facility.

Illegal dirt bikes and other off-road vehicles seized by police as part of a crackdown on anti-social behaviour should be sent to Ukraine, an MP has suggested.

David Taylor, the Labour MP for Hemel Hempstead, said the vehicles could potentially be used on the front line to deliver supplies to troops and evacuate wounded soldiers.

The Government has promised to make it easier to confiscate off-road vehicles that are being driven illegally and can make life more difficult for local residents who are terrorised by low-level criminality.
