Instead of repeating this media mantra, can you implement a simple logic using the following two facts?
 1) This tragedy, with so many civilian deaths, is the biggest in the last year.

https://edition.cnn.com/2025/06/17/europe/kyiv-deadly-strikes-trump-g7-intl-hnk

2) In just one month, Russians launched 6,400 missiles and drones and continue to do so

https://abcnews.go.com/International/russia-launches-6400-drones-missiles-ukraine-record-breaking/story?id=124201916

Where do these thousands of strikes target if a tragedy like this happens only once a year, despite thousands of drones/missiles being sent?

No logic at all in your reasoning, only propaganda.

Russia's Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery halted operations after drone attacks, sources say

MOSCOW (Reuters) -Primary oil processing at Russia's Novokuibyshevsk refinery, which is operated by the Rosneft oil company, has been halted since August 2 following a Ukrainian drone attack last week, two industry sources said.

The refining capacity of Novokuibyshevsk is 8.3 million metric tons of oil per year (or some 160,000 barrels per day).

According to the sources, the attack damaged the main primary oil refining unit CDU-11 at the Novokuibyshevsk refinery.

Europe will send Patriot systems to Ukraine, but on one condition

The United States and European countries are negotiating a deal to supply Ukraine with additional Patriot air defense systems. Under the proposed arrangement, NATO allies would hand over their existing systems to Kyiv, while receiving new replacements from the US on an expedited basis, according to Euractiv.

Several countries, including Germany, are demanding written guarantees from the US that new systems will arrive within eight months. Without that, allies fear they could be left with critical gaps in their own defenses.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said the country needs 10 additional Patriot batteries. Currently, Ukraine has six, provided by the US, Germany, Romania, and the Netherlands.

Zelenskyy says more Western fighter jets coming as Ukraine aims for full NATO integration

"Just this year, our Air Force received Mirages, combat aircraft from France, and additional F-16s. More will come," the Ukrainian President said.

Zelenskyy informed that the next phases of combat aviation development were approved today. These include new platforms and further steps to integrate Ukrainian forces with military partners.

"Our goal is full and effective integration of the Ukrainian Air Force with NATO forces. This will clearly provide more capabilities to Ukraine's defense. At the same time, it will make our country a stronger part of Europe's defense," he concluded.

Amidst the Russian invasion of Ukraine, technology has been a crucial point of leverage for both sides, with technological infrastructure like telecoms and mobile internet services targeted in disruptive offensives aimed at weakening the other side - even leading to Russia shutting down its own internet services in the name of national security.

A new report by non-profit Russian Internet Protection Society has outlined a record breaking 2,000 mobile internet service shutdowns in July, pointing to a dramatic increase in digital restrictions - and rights groups say that many of the blackouts don’t appear to be related to any threat.

Dmitry Gudkov, a former MP and co-founder of the Center for Analysis and Strategy in Europe told Le Monde that authorities are ‘gradually restricting freedoms’ through these outages; "They are acclimating society to life without the internet. The day they need to cut the mobile network, for instance to stifle protests, they'll know they can do it."

Well, Vladimir often called American leaders Western partners. And partners, as a rule, listen to each other carefully and take each other's opinions into account.
And in this case, we again see Vladimir's amazing ability to listen carefully to America and follow its advice. For example, in the US National Security Strategy (NATIONAL SECURITY STRATEGY OCTOBER 2022, PART III: OUR GLOBAL PRIORITIES, PAGE 26) Vladimir read this -

"Russia's conventional military will have been weakened, which will likely increase Moscow's reliance on nuclear weapons in its military planning. The United States will not allow Russia, or any power, to achieve its objectives through using, or threatening to use, nuclear weapons."'.

From this, Vladimir concludes that American partners believe that he can achieve his goals "through using, or threatening to use, nuclear weapons". I think it would be impolite not to take into account the opinion of Western partners, and Vladimir is acting quite politely.

How Russia reins in the internet by blocking websites and isolating it from the rest of the world

Another article on Russian censorship of the internet:

Authorities further restricted internet access this summer with widespread shutdowns of cellphone internet connections and adopting a law punishing users for searching for content they deem illicit.

They also are threatening to go after the popular WhatsApp platform while rolling out a new “national” messenger that's widely expected to be heavily monitored.

Experts and rights advocates told The Associated Press that the scale and effectiveness of the restrictions are alarming. Authorities seem more adept at it now, compared with previous, largely futile efforts to restrict online activities, and they're edging closer to isolating the internet in Russia.

Russia Sends Ex-POWs Straight Back to the Frontline—Injured or Not

ussia is redeploying former prisoners of war (POWs) back to the frontline shortly after exchanges with Ukraine, often without medical treatment, rehabilitation, or legal demobilization.

Some of these soldiers, still wounded, have been captured again within weeks of their release.

These findings were published on August 4 by the Ukrainian state-run initiative Project “I Want to Live” on Telegram.

Ukraine's shield against Russian attacks strengthens as Ukraine gains Dutch-backed weapons

The decision by the Netherlands to allocate 500 million euros for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine will help strengthen protection against regular Russian attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.

He reminded that within the 500 million euro package from the Netherlands, Ukraine will receive American weapons, including missiles for Patriot systems. This is the first such step among NATO countries at a time when Russia is trying to scale up its attacks on Ukraine.

He also noted that the Netherlands' decision was one of the practical outcomes of the NATO summit in The Hague.

Ukraine turns to budget-friendly drone defense, facing missile threats - Reuters

Interceptor drones could become a cheap and accessible alternative to Western or Soviet-made air defense missiles for Ukraine, according to Reuters.

As Reuters reports, citing a charitable organization that supplies interceptor drones, these devices have already shot down around 1,500 drones sent by Russia for battlefield reconnaissance or bombing Ukrainian cities.

Some models can reach speeds of over 300 km/h. They are already being used regularly to intercept Shahed drones during massive attacks on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. However, experts note that current interceptor models are not yet capable of effectively destroying cruise missiles or the new jet-powered drones that Russia has recently begun using.

The word "propaganda" suggests that Vlad supporters want to convince you of something. But in reality, they don't want to convince, they want to win in the war through using, or threatening to use weapons.
I think that everyone here is smart enough to understand that if Vlad wins, their standard of living will get worse. So, no propaganda for you.

An attack on the Saky air base

On August 4th, the Ukrainian Security Service announced that an overnight strike on an air base in occupied Crimea led to an expensive loss for Russian forces. Several fighter jets were targeted, and at least one was reported destroyed.

Russian Sukhoi Su-30SM multirole fighters and Su-24 tactical bombers were targeted in an operation undertaken by the Ukrainian Security Service’s ‘Alpha’ special group using strike drones. At least one Su-30SM was destroyed.

Another Su-30SM was damaged, and three Su-24s were also hit during the attack. The Ukrainian Security Service stated in its report that one Su-30SM can cost between $30 and $50 million dollars, making the recent loss a costly loss for Moscow.

Kremlin views air truce with Ukraine as concession to Trump, says Bloomberg

Russian authorities are considering a possible ceasefire with Ukraine in the air. Moscow might take this step to avoid secondary tariffs and sanctions from the US, Bloomberg reports.

One of Bloomberg’s sources clarified that a compromise could involve a pause in air strikes using drones and missiles. According to him, this would be possible if Ukraine also agrees to such a move.

At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to reject the idea of a general ceasefire and refuses to change his ultimatum conditions for ending the war. "Trump needs some kind of a gift, a concession from Russia. An air truce could be such a gift," said Sergei Markov, a Moscow political consultant close to the Kremlin.

Russia ruined by army recruitment bonuses and war economy

While Russia's production system is entirely geared toward its war economy, the need for soldiers at the front, more than three years after the invasion of Ukraine, continues unabated. And Moscow is sparing no expense in recruiting new military personnel.

In the summer of 2023, Moscow doubled the standard Russian enlistment bonus from 195,000 to 400,000 rubles, which is equal to roughly $5,000 dollars as of August 5th, 2025.

Business Insider pointed out in a report on Russia's economic issues that the amount the Kremlin is paying out to new volunteers is five times higher than the average monthly salary in Russia, a strong incentive for young men, particularly from disadvantaged regions, to join the army.
