Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
Interesting, I recently went to my Thai bank to renew my expired ATM card. The bank wanted me to fill in a form to be sent to the United States about my account in Thailand. Since my Thai account was opened twenty years ago, I do not think the U.S. required Thailand to submit any forms to the United States. So I decided to forgo the ATM card and not fill out the form to the U.S. I will transfer money to my wife's account online and just get the money from her. No way am I going to inform the U.S. of my bank in Thailand. -
