However, Thai PBS wrote: "Thaksin’s political influence questioned by PAO election tally". Quote Of the nine provinces in which former PM Thaksin campaigned for local election candidates, as an ‘assistant to the MP’, his Pheu Thai Party lost in four in yesterday’s polls, raising questions about over how much political influence he still has. Some political observers believe that the Pheu Thai party, of which has his daughter, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, is the leader, may need to revise its strategy if it hopes to win in the next general election. Thaksin had campaigned vigorously prior to the election of Provincial Administrative Organisation (PAO) chiefs in nine provinces, some of which he visited twice... UbonEagle Posted Tuesday at 07:50 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:50 AM Let's just hope it was strategic for people's party to not go all in for these elections. Let's face it, if some of the predictions I've read for the Thai economy come true, the timing for next election could v be very good for PP... Hope so

Why did they only end up with seat at the PAO elections yesterday? Perhaps most of the Thai people didn't vote for Pita and the PP after all, as you claim. PP’s last election numbers were a fluke A lot of PT voters voted for PP due to election fatigue. As PT’s election victories were always getting overturned/cancelled. But now that Thaksin is back and in control the PT voters are back in force 1 1

But now that Thaksin is back and in control the PT voters are back in force And how many Thais have you personally interviewed to reach that conclusion? If the PP voters were so great why did they not win more or even all the seats at the recent PAO election. Bear in mind that they have had over a year since the last general election to regroup, regather and reform since that time. Not only did the PTP win 17 seats, the BJT won 12. yet the PP could only win one seat. 1

Why only assume that PT is the only one buying votes? Their rivals also have the deep pockets to do so. Perhaps the only exception is PP. So all things being equal PT is more popular 1
