BBC with a brutal takedown of Ukrainian hopes
I don't think we can blame the BBC for reporting what was said and summarizing its meaning. NATO has fallen out of favor with America recently and if America withdraws from NATO then the EU and UK will have to handle it. -

Lifting Alcohol Restrictions Could Boost Thai Economy by Billions
The 2-5 rule is more of an inconvenience than anything, not going to generate a great deal. Most that want to buy will buy at some other time or settle for the mom & pop shop. We normally go to the supermarket in the evening so can include the beer, would be a bonus to go at other times. The greatest revenue would be from tourist specific entertainment on holy days and elections. A friend of mine has just been over for a month and got caught for 2 dry days, in Pattaya 2-5 is not a problem. -

Teen Thieves Take a Spin on Stolen Motorcycles
Picture courtesy of KhaoSod In a shocking twist of youthful audacity, Chachoengsao province has been rattled by a string of motorcycle thefts committed by a trio of teenagers, aged between 13 and 15. Leading the pack was a 15-year-old already on bail for a previous theft charge, showing a staggering disregard for the law. The crime spree was cut short in Bang Khunak when local police hauled in the young culprits and their mortified guardians for questioning. Discovered at the youngsters’ homes were the stolen motorcycles, initially lifted from the vicinity of Khlong 19 Railway Station around dawn. Commuters had left their bikes at the station as they caught trains for school, only to find them vanished by the evening. However, sharp detective work and CCTV footage brought the juveniles’ antics into stark focus, tracing the missing vehicles directly to their hideout. The adolescent ringleader seemed unfazed by his legal woes, exhibiting a pattern of dismantling stolen bikes to build his custom ride, investigators found. Parents, while insisting their offspring’s usual good behaviour, were confronted with undeniable evidence of their misdeeds. Though grateful and relieved, the victims praised the police for their swift recovery of the motorcycles within a day. But for these cheeky youngsters, the end of their bike-nicking escapades marks the beginning of a sobering journey into accountability reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-02-21 -
