A construction worker has died after a wall collapsed on him while he was dismantling a structure in Bangkok’s Phahonyothin 32 area.

The incident occurred on 12 February, in Soi Phahonyothin 32 (Senanikom 1), where an old concrete wall, scheduled for demolition, suddenly gave way. The victim, a male construction worker from Myanmar, was trapped beneath the debris and found in a pool of blood.

Rescue volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation were swiftly dispatched to the scene. Emergency responders found the casualty buried under the rubble. Fearing further collapse, the surrounding structure was stabilised before the victim could be recovered.

Responders manually removed the fallen debris and found the casualty had died from a serious head injury and crush injuries to the body.

The victim, who’s details were not disclosed was transported to a local hospital for further examination and await relatives to claim his body.

Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the collapse, and investigations are ongoing.
