Major Fire at Sai Noi Paper Factory Causes Over 500 Million Baht in Damage
Picture from responders. A massive fire broke out at a large paper factory in Sai Noi district, Nonthaburi, causing extensive damage estimated at over 500 million baht. More than 20 fire engines were deployed to contain the blaze, which rapidly spread across the facility. The fire was reported at approximately 12:30 on 16 March, when Sai Noi Police Station received an emergency call about a fire at a paper manufacturing plant in Khun Sri subdistrict. Authorities immediately coordinated with local disaster relief teams, including rescue personnel from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation and firefighters from nearby municipalities. The factory, covering an area of over 500 rai, of covered storage areas filled with large paper rolls and cardboard. By the time emergency crews arrived, the flames had already engulfed a significant portion of the warehouse, causing the roof structure to begin collapsing. Firefighters struggled to access certain areas due to the confined layout, forcing them to focus efforts on preventing the fire from spreading further. Given the challenges posed by the fire’s intensity and the limited accessibility of the site, firefighters worked to secure water sources from nearby locations. Although the full extent of the damage has yet to be assessed, initial estimates suggest losses exceeding 500 million baht. By late afternoon, officials confirmed that the fire had been brought under control, with the ongoing removal of smouldering material, to fully extinguish the blaze. Investigators are now working to determine the cause of the blaze. Infrared drone footage of the fire. -- 2025-03-17 -

U.S. Visa Sanctions Target Thai Officials Over Uyghur Deportation
Indeed, the navy has a storied history of helpfully towing vessels with refugees from Rohingya, through Thai waters and casting them adrift in Malaysian waters. All this while, their land-based counterparts stage those fleeing across land borders through remote southern jungle camps to Malaysia. Their humanitarianism is unquestionable. -

Do any Trump haters have a sense of humour? Perhaps Trump, when he took up residence in their heads, occupied the bit of the brain that deals with humour.
