Are your delivery drivers dropping off packages without a signature?

I've had two deliveries within the week where delivery drivers have dropped packages on the top of our fence instead of delivering them in person.
Today the guy called while I was on the road.  I pulled over and called him back - 5 times.  Ring - hang up. Ring - hang up. Ring - hang up. Ring - hang up. Ring - hang up. Got home and found the package, a new case for my guitar, sitting on top of the fence.  Not good.

Anyway, I've handed off the delivery driver's phone number to the (pissed off) wife who will proceed to read The Riot Act to said delivery guy.  These people come through the village every day so it's not like they can't bring it the next day.  I even checked the delivery company before I left on errands and the package was received this morning but that was no notice that it was out for delivery and the stated delivery date is tomorrow.

Anyway, anyone else having this issue?  Have you had anything stolen that wasn't properly delivered in person?

I have nor signed for anything for years.

They just take photos of the package on the table on the deck.

I do not use COD as I am often away from the house.

I have never lost a package, but I have received packages that do not belong to me.

Reason is simple, my address has been here for 25 years and everyone knows it.

Most of my customers and guests use my address for deliveries.

I do not know about other parts of Thailand but here, the house number does not tell anyone where the house is.

You are just given the next number in the sequence when you ask for the Tabian Baan.

I built three houses, in a row, next to each other.

First is #11, second is #26, third is #52.

Thailand Post have given up delivering letters to our area.

I have received no standard post for three years now.

I live in a condominium. Hundreds of deliveries every day. I am pretty sure nobody signs them.

Some delivery guys phone and tell me there is a delivery.

Probably more are calling and let it rings barely one time and then they hang up. I guess they want to save money on phone calls.

The good news is that until now I don't think anything ever got lost.

If I pay in advance I ask them to leave the package at my door on the table. I'm in the country so there isn't much chance that someone will see the package and steal it. My fruit, yes, but not packages on the table. You said they left it on the fence so I'm thinking you have a wall with a gate and they can't get inside so in this case you're right, they shouldn't leave any packages. If there's a place they can leave them, such as a 55 gallon garbage can, in the back, that's a good idea, if they'll fit.

One driver that comes here seems to always say he's called and when I look at the history on Flash's site, it said he called and I changed the receive date, which I didn't. When I see this, I call him back and he never answers. This is while I'm waiting at home for it to arrive. Laziness and not wanting to come to my house, which is usually at the end of their shifts. The other drivers all call, and usually answer when I ring them back. I'll email Flash and tell them I was home.

When I'm home, some will ask for a signature but most won't. I'm the only foreigner in our village and they all know me,and trust when I get a package there won't be any problems. The same with Kerry, who I've never had a problem with. Always best to talk with them nice, because you don't want an attitude from a driver who's bringing you things. If you can arrange to have them leave the packages in a safe place, inform the company so their drivers will have notice. They can take a picture of the package at the place they left it for their own peace of mind.

Never use COD which prevented 1 scam as parcel was being delivered as COD. Never lost a package in many years. Hardly ever signed, only for Thai post registered. I had a parcel delivered by courier other day and on the tracking website it had a "Signed proof" box. I never signed but there was a "D" in that box online after delivery. I live in a fairly secure gated community and had a few parcels left with no losses. I try to be home when deliveries planned.

Yes, normal practise where I live. However, we have (so far) never had anything stolen.

It might be that the local delivery person need to deliver the package within a certain time limite to be paid or fully paid – one of them told that their payment is 20 baht per package – in a few cases I got E-mail from the shop that the goods were delivered (scanned out), even not I haven't got it; the package arrived only next day.

I "signed" (on the stupid pad thingy which never looks remotely like my actual signature) for two boxes from JIB last week, driver took photos of the box on the table with me in shot.

Lazada, never get a signature, 2 second phone call, open the gate, chap on motorcy arrives. Occasionally very small packages get left in the mail box (no call but status goes to "delivered").

I ordered a new Mac mini M4 directly from Apple.  The SFX company was handling the delivery and the status online said a signature would be required.   It was delivered unannounced without a request for signature.

I didn't receive any call on the scheduled delivery day but found the parcel just inside our gate.  The delivery driver must have passed it over the gate from one hand to the other so he could gently lower it to the ground.

Thankfully the package was just a small plain cardboard box that gave no indication it was from Apple.
