Popular Post webfact Posted February 15 Popular Post Posted February 15 AP file photo for reference only In a shocking twist, many Thai nationals who were once part of international scam call centres are now claiming they were tricked into it! Thai authorities recently cracked down on fraudulent call centres operating along the Thai-Myanmar border. These scam hubs had been conning people out of their hard-earned money, but when the government cut off their power supply, the scammers were left stranded and forced to return home. Now, many of them insist they were victims too, claiming they had no idea they were part of an illegal operation. According to them, they were lured in by promises of easy money, only to discover they had been deceived. But not everyone is convinced. Authorities and legal experts believe a large number of these individuals knew exactly what they were doing and willingly participated in the scams for financial gain. These operations have devastated countless victims, causing enormous financial and emotional damage. While it’s possible that some people were genuinely tricked, officials are under pressure to make sure the guilty don’t walk free. The government is cracking down hard, determined to bring both the masterminds and their willing recruits to justice. With international cooperation, Thai authorities are stepping up their fight against cyber fraud, making it clear that playing the victim won’t be an easy escape route. The recent crackdown is in spite of the fact that the scams have been going on for years and years. And the Thai authorities knew about them. Suddenly, tourists stop coming and it's 'Houston - we have a problem'. Shame on you Thailand. 1 3
PETERTHEEATER Posted February 15 Posted February 15 The Thai authorities announced their rescue on the basis of them being victims so why not jump on the bandwagon.

Thialand finally decided to act when famous chinese people were found as victims to kidnapping and being hauled there to work promoting their scams. Then the Chinese got involved. But what really did it was the fact that in China the news is telling how unsafe it is to travel there and the latest Chinese new Years flop for tourism dollars not to mention Japan being Chinas #1 tourism spot. Everyone already knows when Thailand loses tourists or loses face they act quickly and decisively to make a show. Then it all will be put together again and happen again once to fanfare is over. 2
Kinnock Posted February 15 Posted February 15 They're not going to admit they went to get a lucrative job scamming their fellow countrymen and women.... so claiming they were trafficked is a good excuse. Lock them all up. 1
