frank83628 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I asked a local agent yesterday and she said for the non O proof of money is needed 2 months before new extension and 2 month ater the previous extension. So I guess they're weeding out the fake bank accounts. 1
TheFishman1 Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Why don’t they investigate all the people who are paying off the cops and they’re able to open up different businesses using payments under the table methods TIT 1 1

The thread is actually about Visa services being reduced. Obtaining an extension early is a 'Visa Service' 1 3 4

JontS Posted February 17 Posted February 17 This is very interesting as I will be making the move soon and had decided, after going back and forth in my mind, to use an agent and avoid having the 800k in the bank. If this option is no longer available, I might still use an agent, but the price would have to be right. Otherwise I would do the work myself. 2

If I can sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee while an agent sorts out the paperwork and stands in line, it might be worth it 🙂 1

One of the main reasons for using an agent is that you want the financial requirements covered Not always the case - i got the 800k in the bank, but use an agent to sort my retirement extension, cos i don't want the stress of going down to the immigration office - Been there, done that .... 2 1 1

For annual extensions based on retirement the money in bank is checked retrospectively back to previous extension for compliance

The "discount" for you covering the financials is not the significant amount one would imagine.. Discount at the Agent I use is 4K (it’s 8K if you have the money in the bank & 12K if you don’t). So it’s an extra 6K over the 2K (1,900 immigration fees + 100 for bank letter) that you would pay if you do it yourself. Some people think it’s worth it & some people think it’s a waste of money… Up to Them. Edit: I am only required to get a statement showing the previous 3 months transactions which is great as I can get it done on the day (Bangkok Bank) I don’t know if that’s because I use an Agent or it’s because I use a Fixed Deposit account so there are only a handful of transactions each year. 1 1
