I love it as I have already travel the world twice, raised our kids, now it's just us and as I said to her this morning over coffee, dang life is so stressful, we are always in a hurry to get to work (not) and the high taxes are killing me (not).

I said we should take a trip down to Ko Samui for a week, she said why not two, I said let's see ho the $'s got because you know how expensive things are here, her nearly choking on her coffee.

Yes, boring for some, not for others.

I hope you find what your looking for, because I truly have, and I am as content as a dog licking his #$%^, so to speak, as I look over towards my dog.

That's it for me, off to bed, nite nite

Over run with tourists.

I'm not the one complaining. I have a wife and family. Live on a large farm, along with our Cafe. Go out for dinner or drinks at good resturaunts with friends both thai or foreign. Go to the pool or exercise in the Park. Drive to either coast within 2 hours. All in the south in NST. life is up to you to make it the way you want. If you don't have the character to create a life that makes you happy that's on you

You sound grumpy. Not my idea of fun.

Now in my 8th year in CNX for 9 to 10 months per year and it is what it is: A cheap place to stay a while.  I have learned to have few expectations from the country and the people.  Paradise is a myth and so far it has been mostly good rather than bad. It just seems to me that most Thai people prefer to keep distance from us foreigners.  This is understandable because the cultures are vastly different and in many ways not compatible.

Thailand is like sponge cake. It is nice but no depth to it like mud cake. I need to find a mud cake country.

Below the icing sugar what is there? Just sponge.

A foreign country is nothing like an Almighty One Stop Shop that automatically  senses and caters for your unspoken needs/wishes.

After all, what are you after in your life yourself?

If this country doesn't suit you, may be better start looking for somewhere else where you can feel any happier...

No need to moan about it. Just get on a plane and be gone already, like any normal person does. Simple fix. Sheesh.

Had buffalo in East Timor when it was still under Portuguese control.

$10 a day per couple bought accommodation, breakfast, 3 course lunch, 5 course dinner with wine, shoe shine and laundry.

IIRC the average wage there was $5 a month.

Been there. But more recently. Room was $50. They use usd.

@Harrisfan It is a bit hard to actually get excited about anything when you spend all the time crapping on the forum.

Put down that phone or close the laptop and get a life.

I have been to 20 restaurants and 4 cities. What do you want people to do? Sit in bars all day listening to Robbie? Off to a 5th and 6th city today on the river. No bars no robbie. I was more an Oasis fan back then. A bit more grunt.

I will play Oasis in the car. That might add some spice to the sponge. Some people probably add cinnamon and orange to their sponge.

Found a monthly 1 bedroom cabin 6500 baht with pool so sponge cakes are cheap.

i'm afraid I have to agree with you.

Hong Kong, Japan & Taiwan are miles better.

However, if you want your money to go as far as possible (which I most certainly do), then Thailand & Cambodia are the places to be and play around. My HK apartment is already being rented out and is making me a small fortune every month. Gotta have the side hustle in the back pocket as well!

Best regards,

Bob.

Yes I agree with that. The sponge is cheap and mostly good. A sponge is good compared to a can of spam.

Trump needs to move Spain and Argentina closer to Thailand. Then we would be talking.
