Do you personally care about the future of Ukraine? (nobody will know)

In a nice and fair world Russia would not have invaded Ukraine.

And in a nice and fair world Russia should give back all the land they occupied and give reparations to Ukraine.

 

But this world is not fair.

Now Trump and Putin talk about economy and how to end this war and make some profitable deal for both leaders. And nobody asks Ukraine.

That is obviously not nice and not fair and all that. But at the end of the day who expects that this world is fair?

Is it better to have no war and maybe no Ukraine anymore?

 

I am interested how people will vote here, anonymous. 

Obviously, you can explain in a post how you voted and why. But you don't have to.

I think many of us want a fair solution. But at the end of the day how many of us know someone in Ukraine and really care?

Problem is that that Ivan won't stop there... Putler will just see it as a lull so he can regroup and rearm, to attack later and next stop is Moldova... probably after Trump's administration ends. The naievety of the West knows no bounds... bunch of morons.

Why should any Westerner care, Ukraine is not a democracy and both Zelenskyy and Putin are warmongers and are both responsible for the quagmire they’re in. Shut the door and let them have at it within the borders of the two countries if either one of them resist a solution.

  He only pointed out how biased your poll is.  Zelensky is unelected and elections banned - and you support this, right?  It's a border dispute that is none of America's business, but either way, Russia won from day one.

The reality is that Ukrainians living in the Russian areas will experience a higher GDP per capita and a better quality of life than those who live in the rest of Ukraine. 

 

That's not an endorsement of Putin.  I's a statement of fact, based on widely available data.  Russia's economy was better, and though it's corrupt, it's less corrupt than Ukraine.

 

It's like if the USA invaded Baja Mexico.  The inhabitants would see a massive improvement in their quality of life.  But that doesn't mean I advocate an invasion.

The previous president, democratically elected, was overthrown by CIA/USA. Zelensky term was finished, and so he is a dictator. The USA held elections during WW2 I think you are the dummie here and, actually, you are a bully.

Other, and why?  When the Soviet Union was considering breaking up and looked for guarantees from the US and others that the possible future independent republics would not be offered Nato membership, it was given.

Call Putin a dictator, insecure what ever, he has very good reason to not trust the west, have we forgotten the Cuban missile crisis? that started first when the US placed long range nuclear missiles able to reach Moscow in Turkey, Russia then did the same thing in Cuba, what we didnt hear about for years from the press or from the US government was the deal to pull out of Turkey if the Russians would pull theres out of Cuba.

 

Unfortunately Ukraine has been a pawn of the bigger player in this who for what ever reasons they had wanted to keep a bit of the Cold War going, no doubt Ukraine has there own issues and desires but by allowing themselves to jump into bed with a Nation that has shown countless times when the time comes they will just up and leave.

 

The deal was always going to be what ever the Russians took land wise they would keep with puppet governments in place, The idea that Ukraine was going to win, winning what ever was pure press and Nato propaganda, Love or Loath at least Trump may end the war, as the outcome would have always been the same no matter who was in charge.

I've been following talk shows and politics in my home country... High living costs - blame this war, expensive electricity - blame Putin, lack of affordable housing - it's the war! Country almost bankrupt and high debt - because of the Ukraine war, bad economy - just blame the war. Incompetent politicians - and yeah, blame the war in Ukraine .. 😵‍💫

I don't personally care about Ukraine that much, but I do care about enabling a serial killing madman dictator like Putin. Trump can sympathize with him all he wants, and give away the store. I am not surprised anymore with just how round the bend, bonkers, that idea is. Or that MAGA heads would believe it. The US has been spinning off into zone insanity for 20 or 30 years now. Sooner or later the price of mass stupidity will have to be paid. This will end ugly.

What you have to understand is what Putin wants, and that is the access points to the Russian interior that facilitate invasion, there are 7 of them... and Moldova is one of then, hence why Putin wants to go through Ukraine. There is another in the Causcuses, hence the Chechen/Georgia wars, another in the Baltics like Poland and Silwaki gap/Estonia etc.

During the Soviet time they controleed all of these places that you could drive an invasion force through, but lost them when the Soviet Union collapsed... why do you think the Russians are so interested in Trandsniestria and has troops there? It's all about securing these points and the Russians want the natural mountain barriers alongside them as defences, all they have to do is put a division in the gaps and good to go. Look at how easy historically it has been to invade Russia once you get to the vast open steppes etc... they don't like that.

I would prefer if we stopped pretenidng we rule the world any more and looked after ourselves. Switzerland has done well by staying out of wars we could do the same.
