In Udon Thani province, Thailand, a man tragically attacked and killed his ex-wife yesterday, February 19, over disputes linked to drug addiction and gambling issues. The incident took place at their home in the Mueang district around 12:30 p.m.

Concerned relatives informed the police after facing threats from the assailant. Police Colonel Chagard Thiamwong and Police Colonel Patthanawong Chanpon led the response team. They arrived to find emergency services from Udon Thani Hospital trying to save 34-year-old Sukanya, known as Beer. She had suffered severe stab wounds and, despite their efforts, died from her injuries.

The suspect, 32-year-old Ritthiporn, fled the scene on a motorcycle but was soon apprehended. He showed police where he discarded the weapon and was taken in for questioning. Witnesses noted his unsettling calmness during the arrest.

Sukthong, the victim's 65-year-old mother, shared her grief and details leading up to the attack. She revealed that Sukanya had left Ritthiporn months ago due to his violent behavior and addictions. Despite threats reported to the police, including one on December 11, those dangers ended in tragedy.

Ritthiporn reportedly visited Sukanya to reconcile but turned violent. The couple, who shared a 10-year-old child, had a strained relationship plagued by conflicts. Sukthong mourns her daughter, who had tried to start anew but was ultimately unable to escape the repeated threats and violence, reported The Thaiger.

Very sad tale rip.

Reports to the police again going nowhere which might have prevented the victims death.

A sad reflection on the reactive policing here.
