I am definitely seeing rising tension.

The place is jammed with people, cars and buses.  People from all over the world who many seem to hate people from other countries.  Then, they get drunk or get into arguments and create more problems.

The situation now seems to be just the beginning.  I see it getting mixh worse.

This sums up pretty good. Yes the vibes/rising tensions are going in wrong direction. The constant traffic jam is very stressful .  Lam Pho seafood market now is barracaded in some places and over crowded with Chinese. Good for business but it's only ok very early to avoid the sh*t lode of jerks, including the locals.

It's a bit worrying, we have more of these incidents and a lot of organized crime where Chinese are behind it. The liberal Visa Exempt (and easier long term Visas) is having its effect and changing the place  a lot, not for the good either.

It's ruined Thailand.

They can't go back now to save face. It would be like admitting this was a mistake.

The whole point of erasing visas was to give tourism a stimulus, but tourist levels have returned to normal around the world - there was no need to give a pointless stimulus, that cost Thailand alot of money in waived visa fees. Then on top of that to pay for the crime, turning away better tourists etc

No, "The incident began when the Indian men approached the women, reportedly trying to flirt and filming them. Feeling uneasy, one woman demanded the video be deleted, but the man refused,"

It's still better than asking a vulerable Thai women to go with 5 men for a discount. The Thai womens logic is that she may not get any customers tonight, so might as well take the offer of 5 men for the same price.

It's horrific and degrading on a level i have never seen. Go up and down walking street and this is what alot of the indian men are asking, to go with the whole group.

More A-holes with cameras! YouTube has a lot to answer for. 🤬🤬🤬

I wonder if the Thais were really women... 🤔🤔🤔

I remember when no one would dare take photos on Walking Street ( I was threatened with a baseball bat when someone thought I was going to ). That all changed when Chinese tour groups started being escorted through. Now VDOs of it are all over U Tube.

They must have been watching porn VDOs and think it's real life.

Not so sure about that.  Streetwalkers soliciting on Beach Road are regularly arrested (and then let go!)

rising tensions = click bait

there is no rising tensions. but out of 10 million tourists, a few altercations are inevitable

Click bait, AKA BS.

Increasingly common in Thaiger news.

No, more of the time it's Phuket!

It's Pattaya.  It's Phuket.   It's Bangkok.   And . . . it's Fort Lauderdale.  "3 Hospitalized After Stabbing in Fort Lauderdale"--recent news headline.   Also, "Arrest Made in Fort Lauderdale Shooting that Killed Teen Girl".   Popular tourist places--the world over--will have some crime--it's a given when you have millions of tourists vacationing, partying hard, and wanting a good time.

From the same Fort Lauderdale news feed, several articles on Fort Lauderdale stepping up efforts to curb crime with Spring Break arriving.  That reminded me of a news article from the other day saying about the same thing with Phuket--cops stepping up their efforts there to curb crime, as well.   Same same.   And so it goes.

Last night, February 19th, a street fight erupted near Pattaya Beach, leaving four people injured. The fight involved two Thai women and two Indian men, with a Thai man who attempted to intervene also getting hurt.

The incident began when the Indian men approached the women, reportedly trying to flirt and filming them. Feeling uneasy, one woman demanded the video be deleted, but the man refused, triggering a heated argument that quickly turned violent.

The confrontation escalated as one woman grabbed a stick, prompting the men to flee toward Pattaya Walking Street. In their rush, they allegedly damaged a car, scratching it and breaking its side-view mirror.

The situation worsened with punches thrown from both sides, resulting in minor injuries for the four involved. A local motorcycle taxi rider trying to mediate was also injured, receiving blows to his knees and eye.

Police quickly arrived to disperse the crowd and administered first aid to those hurt. Officers are now examining CCTV footage to determine the initiator of the fight and ensure justice is served.

Authorities are considering charges for public disorder, property damage, and assault, depending on the investigation's outcome. The incident has caught social media's attention, highlighting rising tensions between tourists and locals in Pattaya, a popular tourist spot in Thailand, reported The Thaiger.

I hope India doesn't go nuclear over this. This is something that Thailand need to keep in mind. Indians are known to use force if any of their people gets hurt. A benefit of being a superpower in the region.

I wasn't aware, where did this happen?

I follow a few portrait photography pages on FB. Sometimes the admins post portraits of really beautiful women. Instead of commenting on the photography or even the beauty of the women, one should read of the comments from this lot. 'Despicable' doesn't even begin to describe how small their brains are. Or course not all are bad. But there are enough to paint a rough picture. Enough said.
