In an unbelievable scandal, Prasert Klinbancheun, the abbot of Nong Chaeng temple in Suphan Buri, has been arrested for grisly crimes involving minors. Authorities were spurred into action by Police Colonel Peera Assawapiboonphol after a tip from Thailand’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit.

Investigators found shocking content on Prasert’s mobile, consistent with unsavory material reported online. Among the victims was a 16-year-old, horrifically photographed three years prior. That's not all—fresh claims of abuse involve a 13-year-old temple assistant, just last week!

Prasert confessed to storing these images on Google Drive and admitted to the vile acts. Without missing a beat, officials removed his monk status. The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security now supports the children, ensuring their safety as investigations deepen.

Locked away at Dan Chang Police Station, Prasert awaits a legal reckoning. Families of the affected children are gearing up to lay additional charges on him. This chilling case shakes communities once considered refuges and demands heightened vigilance.
