How about this.

Trump won the presidency on the basis of election promises.

It’s no longer about Harris v Trump, it’s about what Trump promises and what Trump delivers.

Wait 12 months. Whingeing after 1 month is immature.

If I get to a point that I think Harris would have been better, I will admit it. So, if Trump:

Opens the boarder back up to allow millions of illegal aliens to flood into the county again.

Stops the deportations

Changes Title IX back to compel girls to shower with and compete against men

Restarted federal funding for trans surgeries and "medications"

Reinstitutes programs that hire and promotes people based on skin-color and or gender

Stops Elon from continuing with DOGE

Stops funding Israel

Allows the Ukraine war to continue indefinitely

Started prosecuting political opponents of phony crimes

If he did all those things, I would see that as the breakeven point.

Now if he became a dictator and started to do things unconstitutionally, as defined by the Constitution, that would push me over the line to the Harris side.

How about you, what would  have to happen to come abound to thinking Trump was the better choice?

Never the Twain shall meet. You will never cross over as you subscribed to Trump’s policies and methodology. I find his policies regressive and do more harm than good to the country. Harris’s policies are more inclusive and progressive. Her leadership will allow the continuity of good trading practices and maintain America global leadership. Unfortunately her election campaign was unsuccessful. Trump won the election and he has to prove that his policies are for the betterment of the country and world.

Now it’s ’wait 12 months’.

Three gaps are appearing, Trump’s pre-election promises and his post election actions.

Trump’s policies and their outcome.

And these are creating the third, MAGA expectations and the reality that is dawning on them.

It turns out cuts to jobs included MAGA jobs, cuts to welfare include MAGA welfare, slashing regulations included regulations protecting MAGA.

And all from a President now referring to himself as a King.

Its going to get ugly.

That the left is able to find Trump "supporters" does not surprise me, and the left putting them out on lame leftist media outfits does not fool anyone, they're just singing to the choir.

Correct. It’s no longer about Harris v Trump; it’s about Trump v the left.

That's just not true. Tell me about Gaza?

How about immigration?

Well in an effort to be slightly more balanced than the Trump brigade on here (who can see no fault whatsoever with what Trump is doing), here is my tupenceworth.

He gets kudos for the border policy that has seen illegal immigration fall off a cliff since he got into power but since I'm not American I don't really care about America's illegal immigrants. I think this sledgehammer approach to government is just a prelude to Project 2025 and is undisciplined and chaotic but again, I'm not American so it doesn't affect me personally. However, what does affect me is his foreign policies and his assualt on the planet. I do care about the future for my child and I would have hoped most here would be the same (unfortunately not though) but withdrawing from the Paris Agreement in favour of 'drill, baby, drill' is just regressive and unneccessary. Why having a cleaner planet for everyone isn't a good idea is beyond me but he's rescinding of all the green initiatives implimented by the Dems just because they were implimented by Biden - that just smacks of petty revenge rather than good policy.

His 'war' against trans people just seems completely unneccessary and just vindictive. Most sports had already banned trans men from competing so all he acheived was getting it banned at college level. EVERYONE agrees that trans women who previously were men shouldn't compete at a high level of sport but it was being addressed and really is a non-problem magnified to keep his more rabid base engaged in identity politics.

However by far my main problem with him is world politics and world economics. I absolutely don't agree with how he is handling the Ukraine war (basically handing Putin everything he wants and demonising Zelensky with obvious Russian propoganda) and his idea to clear the Gazza strip and make it into some sort of up-scale beach resort is just plain crazy. Tariffs risk the whole worlds economic health and are destined to drive inflation even higher for both the US and the world. It is ill-thought out and against almost any guidance by major economists the world over.

It's early days for him and he's done some good but his direction in many other things is VERY concerning and could lead to much more problems for the world that we all live in. He gets a 'much improvement to be done' from me.

Again, nothing at all to do with Harris.

On Trump’s trying to keep his promises, there is little evidence of this. He’s already walking back his inflation pledges, wars aren’t going to end in 24hrs, America isn’t getting ‘great again’.

The outcome of his policies is yet to be seen.

Meanwhile he’s referring to himself as a King.

I know it's confusing, but:

"Trump is trying to keep his promises.

Harris was trying to promise not to continue doing the things she had been doing with Biden for four years, and that she had previously run on.

Correct. It’s no longer about Harris v Trump; it’s about Trump v the left."

And it is ABSOLUTELY about Harris, because she was the only alternative. It would have been at least four more years of Obama and Biden leftist policies dividing and destroying the country.

You attack Trump, and I support Trump not because either of us are stupid, but because we both want different things for the country. Has Harris woe, you would have gotten what you wanted for the country. But Trump won, so I at least have a chance to get what I want for the country.

Do you have American children? I do.

California has to pay other states to take electricity from them during the day.

California has to electricity back from those same states at night.

Biden's "green initiatives" were cancelled because they were ridiculous. Largely benefiting a few connected rich people on the backs of higher energy costs for the poor.

There is no "war: against trans people.

Biden's changes to Title IX compelled schools to allow men in girls' showers and sports.

Biden changed military policy to mandate that trans military personnel be provided "free" trans surgeries and "medications"

Biden DEI programs mandated the hiring and promotion based on skin-color and or gender.

Ok, back and forward from both sides ,as usual.

A lot of deflection if you challenge or question some one from the right, let's say MAGA.

The problem with MAGA is ,they do not have any level of critical thinking.

They just repeat at nausea what they have heard from their leader.

@ Yellowtail,no i do not mind at all if Trump is trying to curtail government over spending,i applaud it and hope more countries would do the same.

But,how is the best way to go about it?

Firing a whole load of government workers sounds like a great solution right?

Right, send them home and save billions!

It is not that simple.

In real life when a company needs to clean up their act they can hire a problem solver and let them fire a lot of staff and right a new game plan.

Maybe they need to pay some severance pay and we are good to go.

In government it does not work like that.

On paper once you fire people you are saving a lot of money and right now it may look fine.

No wait, there are big cracks already showing, some really bad and some not so bad.

People wanting to go into a nature park have to wait for four hours in line to get admitted to said park.

Why? Because a lot of workers were let go(fired) without any thought except saving money and trying to divert the attention of non critical people.

Some really bad things, people in the US are mostly living from paycheck to paycheck and the loss of government services will affect their daily needs right away, food etc.

When the government fires people these people will not go away, they have mortgages, car payments and they need to eat.

First few months there will be unemployment but what after that?

Tens of thousands of people fired, what will they do?Take the job of illegals that are getting removed?

It is not that simple.

Trump is just trying to fill a hole by digging a new one.

Get rid of government waste?

Do not play golf as President, one million dollars at the time?

Do not let the Secret Service stay at Mara Lago  at inflated prices.

Make the 1% pay tax.

Let companies like Tesla pay tax,the have gotten millions from the government.

I could go one, promises are not being kept by Trump but that is nothing new right?

Another thing is a lot of MAGA supporters proudly claim they are against any form of socialism, are you really?

Not possible to live in the USA and not benefit from socialism.

Think critical people and don't just repeat a mantra made up by your cult leader.

Things are going to change really fast in the next few weeks.

I wish I lacked critical thinking skills. They seem so happy. Malevolent, but happy.

Exactly, if only MAGA knuckle-draggers were smarter, they would vote for, let's say, leftists policies like:

Open boarders millions of illegal aliens to flood into the county again.

Let anyone that can get it, stay in, and give them benefits to attract even more

Changing Title IX back to compel girls to shower with and compete against men

Provide federal funding for free surgeries and "medications" to transition children against the will of their parents.

Madate ALL companies implement programs that hire and promotes people based on skin-color and or gender

Ignore was and abuse in government

Stops funding Israel

Allows the Ukraine war to continue until all the Ukrainians are dead.

Go after any dissenting views and crush them

Prosecuting and imprison political opponents

Punish the law abiding and reward those that break the laws.

If only I had the critical thinking required to see how great the world would be with the left running everything.

Victory for whom?

Certainly not many US businesses which will close and the tens of millions of American citizens about to become unemployed.

Maybe a victory for criminally insane US politicians?

As well as Putin.

Which businesses are closing and 10 of millions unemployed? Like who?
