"Omg!!! He's Going To Take Our Meds Away" HHS Dir. RFK Jr reviews SSRIs

Recommended Posts

In his first day in office US Health and Human Services director Robert Kennedy Jr. forwarded his plans to the nation to investigate the causes of many ailments which afflicts the American public.  He also express concern over the over prescriptions of SSRIs and plans to "assess the prevalence of and threat posed by the prescription of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, stimulants, and weight-loss drugs."  Looks like he may also be investigating the new craze of "fat-shots" and possibly the use of drugs to control Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder "ADHD."  Don't know about anyone else, but I was a hyper kid as were most of my friends.  Being hyper is just part of being a boy, but now they seem to need to drug kids for being kids. Anyway, all of this is being investigated.  It would be interesting the see the demographic breakdown of the use of SSRI, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and stimulants. Anecdotally, my progressive liberal family members and friends openly used them as well as promote them, and my conservative family members and friends don't. Funny how conservatives seem to be rather more well-adjusted.

No doubt we will be hearing shrieks of horror that, "RFK Jr. is taking my meds away."  I can't wait until he gets around to Covid shots and mRNA shots in general. "RFK Jr. is taking about my Covid shots."

He might be doing you a favor.

Just read a story of a trump supporter who saw his diabetes medication increase from 6 dollar for the month to 80. Not a happy camper.

During the Biden administration.  Trump's only been in office for a month.  Markets don't react that quickly. But if you insist:  Source?  Link?  Otherwise your statement is nonsense.  If someone is spouting that their insulin has spiked from $6 to $80 over the last 23 days, and without any proof, it's also hearsay and nonsense.

Let's fact check it.

Insulin prices fall amid growing competition, legislative action

This is a trend which will likely continue due to competition among the Big Pharma players.

But why the pathetic attempt to drag ''the Left' into it?

Just another silly Troll post IMHO.

A shame, as it could have been a good thread.

As I stated:
"It would be interesting the see the demographic breakdown of the use of SSRI, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and stimulants."

Because:
"Anecdotally, my progressive liberal family members and friends openly used them as well as promote them, and my conservative family members and friends don't. Funny how conservatives seem to be rather more well-adjusted."

Now you have the context that you skipped over.

@theshu25:

Posts using derogatory and toxic nicknames or intentional misspelling of people’s names will be removed. If you don’t want your post to be removed, spell people’s names correctly, this applies to both sides of the political debate.

I'm not surprised he 'skipped over' your post.

If you want your audience to loose interest fast, write a 230 word post without a single paragraph break!

That works.

People makes these statements but what exactly did Trump do to make that happen? Yeah, I know, you don't know. Medications go up for all kinds of reasons.

No. I as someone who doesn't get involved in politics, lost all interest in your thread.

Now if you had kept it to just being about the health of the nation, I would have been all in.

But you turned it into a crashing bore. Just MHO.

If it is true that left wing people predominantly take these drugs that would be a genuine health concern.

Why does it have to be a Trump supporter that is not a happy camper? I believe if you label someone, then it takes away from the gist of the story, and totally discounts it's accuracy to me. The toxicity in all of the labeling these days, is nothing but unhealthy division.

The U.S. is a way over medicated country.  So many people on antidepressants, anti anxiety, anti fat medications, booze and weed.

Completely agree and its only going to get worse. They won't give people with legitimate pain any pain medication anymore but they'll give them all the mind destroying medications they want.

just the beginnings of the Trump changes - Read today the Canada giving up buying from US and instead has now switched to UK and Eur for same things they used to buy from the US.  Likewise, UK now switching from buying normal crap from US and will go elsewhere.  I do think that many countries instead of trying to fight off the Trump tariff's will go elsewhere.  Also saw China in Dec put a mortorium on certain products that the US needs for EV production and batteries and instead will seek markets elsewhere versus selling with the US.  Listening to some analysts, by doing this type of response to the Trump tariffs, local US citizens will end up having to do without or paying much more for what they used to buy.  But listening to Trump, he says he has heard nothing but praise from EVERYONE on what he has already accomplished in his first month on the job.  We will of course be seeing what happens as unemployment zooms next monthly report.  Noted yesterday that the stock market in the US tanked!

All these silly crying stories. None are true. No one has been deprived of medicine by USAID and US agency bureaucratic cutbacks unless they were one of the slackers that got fired. Post the link (from the Guardian, MSNBC) please.

Because that's what he said in his post. No idea if true or not, only recounting what i read.

Steady on, didn't his doctor say ( as reported by Trump) that he was the healthiest man, for his age, he had ever seen!😄

IIRC the one who pays the piper calls the tune.

There's no doubt Americans are unhealthy. 70% of them are either overweight or obese.

IMO the healthier you are, the less medication you need. The Romans knew it over 2000 years ago, when they coined the phrase " A healthy mind in a healthy body".

With diet and exercise, I reduced the 6 regular medications I used to take years ago to just one. I don't need anti-depressants, reflux medication, quinine ( cramps ), or ARB's any more.

I still take tramadol opportunistically, for back pain twice a week.

Unfortunately, Americans don't have a role model. Trump is obese, and his diet is terrible. Only his doctor knows how many meds he is on.

RFK as a recovered heroin addict is not much of a role model either.

Biden the role model :cheesy:
