In a stern alert, the Thai government has warned citizens of a new, potent form of methamphetamine, ominously dubbed "Frung Fring" pills, identified as a looming drug crisis. Authorities recently intercepted a staggering 106,000 of these pills at the border before they could be smuggled into the country.

Deputy government spokesman Anukul Prueksanusak revealed on Wednesday that this alarming batch was seized in a neighbouring nation. The "Frung Fring" pills are distinguishable by their shimmering appearance and eerie glow in the dark, a characteristic adding to their allure but also highlighting their peril.

The concoction of regular methamphetamine laced with crystal meth not only makes these pills striking but exponentially increases their potency, as Mr Anukul pointed out, raising significant concerns over their potential effects on users.

Economically, these pills sell for approximately 9 baht each on the border, but their value surges to around 30 baht once inside Thailand. This profit margin undeniably intensifies the attractiveness for drug traffickers looking to capitalise on the illicit trade.

In light of these developments, the government has mobilised all relevant agencies, ordering an intensification of border surveillance efforts with the aim of thwarting attempts to smuggle these hazardous narcotics into the country. Mr Anukul stressed that drug traffickers are continuously evolving their strategies, adding complexity to their activities and making detection increasingly challenging.

Despite these hurdles, the government remains steadfast in its zero-tolerance policy against drug-related offences. Mr Anukul emphasised that this rigid approach will continue, ensuring that both traffickers and any complicit government officials are dealt with according to the full force of the law.

He implored the public to be vigilant and proactive, urging anyone with knowledge of suspicious drug activities to report their concerns immediately to the Office of Narcotics Control Board’s 1386 hotline.

As Thailand fortifies its commitment to combat this emerging drug threat, the government's response will be crucial in curbing what could become a widespread public health crisis. Through increased vigilance and public cooperation, authorities hope to clamp down on the burgeoning trade of these perilous “super meth” pills, reported Bangkok Post.

"Frung-fring means girly bling-bling – think My Little Pony and magical unicorns." Per Coconuts Bangkok; so I guess the name has something to do with the fact they shimmer and glow in the dark; why this name should be "omnious" I don't know, but maybe I'm missing something.

It seems the only thing super about these pills as compared to Yaba is that they glow in the dark and make for hyped up press releases.....

Quote: "regular methamphetamine laced with crystal meth". Really? Crystal meth IS methamphetamine.

So the new threatening drug is meth laced with itself. Great news here.

Given that hundreds of millions of meth pills, and hundreds of Kilos of crystal meth are seized almost weekly in the Kingdom, "staggering" seems like a stretch.

Now imagine all of the meth that they didn't seize.  Cartels under that busts are the price of doing business.  Lost product is put in the Expense column of their spreadsheets and written off. Maybe ya'll should invite US Special Ops in to clean up the mess.
