Same Sex Marriage Visa - Latest Information

It would seem that according to the latest Police Order the terms for a Marriage Visa for same sex couples has been updated as follows:

 

In simple terms, the partner is required to show the 400k in the Bank.

 

Thai Male/Foreigner Male needs the 400k

Thai Female /Foreigner Female needs the 400k in the Bank.

Well at least its equal    but  what about a foreign female married to a Thai male ?

do they now need 400,000 too ????

That's exactly what I was thinking.

For some time, right or wrongly it's been a bone of contention esp with male expats living in Thailand married to Thai national.

It would appear that rule is still the same and that foreign females married to thai males DO NOT need proof of funds
The "foreigner shows 400K is only for foreign/thai same sex marriages and foreign males / thai females (of course 😛 )

Sadly, the PDF available for download from that link is a collection of the images of 12 scanned pages. That procedure seems standard for the Immigration Bureau.

 

I used OCR (optical character reading) to convert text PDF form which text can be copied, eg for pasting into a translation app.

It will take me some time to do the Englissh translation using Google Translate and put it into a table similar to the Thai original.

Clause 13 of the Immigration Bureau Order (I.B.O.) 14/2568 seems to be the one for family members of a Thai family, but there is no mention of financial requirements. Is that perhaps in a separate Immigration Bureau Order?

 

 

The I.B.O 14/2568 is for applying for a visa and changing the type of visa at immigration offices. Perhaps the financial requirement will be stated in a separate new order for extensions of stay, which we have yet to see.
