Just been to one of my favorite places frequented for years, never had a problem and always order 3 big beers, everyime I visit..

This time when it came to pay the bill she said I had 4, when I knew damn well I only had 3, cos that's all I ever have in this joint!

An argument ensued, in which she was adamant I had 4 beers instead of 3, until her boss came over checked the bill and confirmed that I was right. She then left off in a fit of rage, almost in tears.. what is the solution to this kind of nonsense? Is it pay beer by beer or what? Which itself I have found an inconvenience,  sometimes I have left after paying beer by beer before being asked 'have you paid your bill?...

What the hell is wrong with these people? Why can they never accept when they are wrong? She left without a sorry a nothing, just walked away angry.

Thais are an incredibly strange Group indeed!

Regards,

Bob.

They are probably trying to catch up on all your previous (imagined) underpayments in that case!

Is it really worth arguing over 100 baht?  Learn the meaning of mai pen rai and enjoy life.

Bob is so desperate for attention he is going through every Thai "cliche" used in the last 30 years. No seatbelts in taxis, his unfortunate attempt at sleazy sex in Savannaket, and now being charged for excess beer. Sadly this OP is just getting sillier every day. Up your game!!

It always happens in certain bars around were I live, One bar I used to go in, I always only had 3 beers, one night they got a new girl, she was new in that bar but she was well known in many other bars, when I got my bill it was 6 beers, all the other staff and the owner knew I only ever drink 3, she kicked off saying take a look at the camera, she really got the hump, I think the bar got rid of her, never saw her again

Back in the day, the bottles (empties) were kept in a tray next to you. It wasn't for your sake, it was so they could drop an extra empty into the tray when you and your companions weren't watching. Very old trick. The waitress would put enough cash in the til to match what you actually ordered, and put the rest into her pocket.
