The US buys nearly half of its imported oil from Canada and 90% of its imported natural gas from Canada, the nation that they're cutting off by imposing huge tariffs on.

Actually Trump had a change of heart, he is now supporting the re opening of Nordstream 2. As soon as this war ends Germany will buy gas from Russia again most likely.
