Because of course those are the only zero carbon sources of energy?

They are not even so called "zero carbon"!

Look into their so called carbon footprint from initial mineral extraction/transportation/production/infrastructure/running etc.

Just like electric cars.  Apply the same dynamics and you will find (without your blinkers) that they are bigger polluters than efficient small petrol saloons.

The UK and EU and all countries which have embraced Net Zero are now in the process of destroying their economies.  The after a few more countries like Romania over-turn election results as voters vote to toss their Net Zero Greenie leaders out of office, then the lid comes off the pressure cooker and it won't be pretty.

The EU have already walked back a touch and have recently announced some reductions to the corporate reportings required around Sustainability/Green issues.

Practical reality is this. EU can try to take the lead on carbon reduction/net zero with the risks that involves around being a first adopter but I don't see much major traction on net zero from other major economies such as US, China, Japan and India. Well, that is apart from China, who are gleefully making all the solar cells and EVs to sell to environmentally conscious Europeans & Yanks whilst they continue to generate >50% of their electricity from coal. They are playing the game very well...

Yes of course they are.

Economies of scale are not a thing.

Nobody in the UK is bankrupted by medical bills.

That is true. UK residents risk death by late diagnosis and late treatment.

Drill baby, Drill! Trump has it right on energy (and many other things). Whilst the sun sets on the UK, America will triumph under Trump, Vance and Musk. The UK neeks a dream team same as them. Unfortunately it's too late. Adios UK! Would rather be an American than British (economically) right now. In fact, I have two good friends here in Thailand who were born Brits but got American citizenship. Their prosperity did not come from ther UK.

Please explain how or what "Economies of scale are not a thing" are or mean. Total gobbledygook.

I was making a sarcastic observation.

The carbon impacts of production are reduced per unit produced by the economies of scale.

The carbon impact of the Internal Combustion Engine increases per unit produced.

We've been over this at least a dozen times. You can refer to my previous posts.

Alternatively, you'll find out how it should have looked when Reform get in at the next GE. Farage is going to do a Trump and blow your silly Woke/doomsday/EU cult ideology out of the water.

I can only hope you are correct, and at the same time, hope that I am still around to see it!

Yes after ruining Brexit she tried to ruin the long term energy outlook of the UK.

The Tories made a lot of mistakes, but the far the biggest was allowing Labour into power. Ed Miliband's obsession with net zero is incredibly dangerous for all but the very wealthy.

More Torygraph right wing drivel lapped up by blinkered climate change deniers.

Still crying over Labour’s stunning landslide on July 1st?

Cos the previous 14 years were oh so politically stable and sleaze free eh?
