From then on, the U.S. experienced 76 consecutive months of job growth—the longest streak on record at the time. By the time Obama left office in January 2017, the economy had gained around 11.6 million jobs, and the unemployment rate had fallen from 10% in 2009 to 4.7%. -

Not from where? I was born and raised in South London and have lived or worked in a number of EU countries so, by those criteria, I'd say that I'm more qualified than most - probably including yourself -to comment on these matters. It's nonsense to suggest that no countries have benefitted from the EU (or its' predecessors). For example, by almost any criteria, things in the former Warsaw Pact nations have greatly improved since they joined the EU. Going further back, the ECSC helped ensure that the regular, centuries old dust-ups between France and Germany became a thing of the past. Germany's economic problems are mainly structural and, if there is blame to assign, it rests with successive German governments not the EU: Likewise, Merkel's well-meaning, but ill conceived 'open doors' policy regarding refugees, was a German government decision not the EU's, albeit the rest of Europe are dealing with the consequences. Although the EU lays down targets wrt energy - targets agreed to by the member states - energy policy and strategy are largely the responsibility of the individual EU states. -

This seems to be the major problem. When deportation falls within UK law but overruled by ECHR then either ECHR laws need to be reviewed or perhaps the UK needs to review its "membership"........ -

Thai immigration online 90 day reporting system (2025)
I'm not even sure that it applies to CW. I can certainly remember CW changing it so the question arises when did they change back to the old way of doing it. I worry that this belief is one of those strange untested myths that have cropped up on this forum. Certainly when I applied at the last minute I have always received an approval. The problem is I can't remember when I last did that.
