Bohemianfish Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Here in the states, I found Kerrygold (from Costco) to be a butter a lot of people, myself included, love to eat. I eat it daily for a keto-ish diet. Is there a similar brand in Thailand? I assume it is imported from New Zealand? And how much are butter prices for high quality grass-fed butter? Tolerable? How is domestic? We try to be on the healthy side with food (organic as we can, food with fewer additives if any) and mostly cook at home - and its cheaper to do so. My wife is Thai and we plan to move there eventually.
Ralf001 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago BigC and Tops sell it, likely other supermarkets too. 1

drgoon Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Butter in New Zealand is expensive. Close to 200Thb for 500gm. Like all things here, the big retailers took advantage of the Covid supply hassles to ramp up the price of food amongst other things. Electricity suppliers did the same blaming supply issues. WTF, what issues do you have pushing electricity through the grid. It's not like it's being delivered in a truck or courier van lol. https://www.newworld.co.nz/shop/product/5003216_ea_000nw
KhunLA Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I prefer this brand, over others, including imported. Buy from local bakery supply shop for ฿315 / 1 kg. Home Fresh Gold Butter (เนยโฮมเฟรชโกลด์), if out of stock, simply make our own, using heavy (whipping) cream, till restocked. "Home Fresh Gold Butter, salted, 1 kilogram, produced with the Sweet Cream Process method, using cream separated from fresh milk as the raw material, adding high quality butterfat imported from a famous source, adding a special strain of fermentation culture, and fermenting at temperature to extend the fermentation period for a longer time in order to increase the aroma and smooth, well-rounded flavor. Home Fresh Gold Butter is therefore the prototype of authentic fresh butter that still adheres to the raw materials used and the traditional production process." 1

New Zealand Anchor butter is the best. Agree with that. Allowrie is nasty. Anchor is the best product for the price. Villa also sells Lurpak which is even better than Anchor but considerably more expensive.

I buy Allowrie in the small sachets. Pro tip: If you want it to get soft faster on toast, unwrap the butter, but leave the wrapper covering it on top, to collect more heat from the toast.

Seppius Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Been getting Westgold in Pattaya for b125 250gram, happy with that price, grass fed and tastes better than Anchor IMHO

Or just throw it away and buy real butter. You have perhaps confused that product with the one sold in Australia.
Cameroni Posted 26 minutes ago Posted 26 minutes ago If you want quality butter I would stay away from this New Zealand and Australian rubbish and instead buy the Danish butter sold in Tops. Not Lurpak. The other one. There is also good French butter. All Australian and New Zealand butter was truly poor, if you do not have money Orchid is always an option.

It has its roots in Ireland but there seems to be a trading arrangement in the US, Kerrygold USA. I have bought some at Siamburi but it was a one off, their products are a bit hirt and miss. What i bought had a UK barcode.
