I believe Tesla is an American company. There is nothing wrong with an American President promoting American products. It is nothing out of the ordinary, and you can easily find myriad examples from past administrations.  None of which generated any pushback whatsoever.

What makes it interesting is the reflexive howling from the left.

I don't recall any pushback when Biden rode around in a 1000 HP Hummer, shilling for GM.  But Orange Man Bad.

GM: Biden's test drive of electric Hummer helped increase reservations (CNBC)

  • President Joe Biden’s visit last week to a General Motors plant that’s producing the GMC Hummer electric pickup caused a notable increase in reservations for the truck, the automaker said Tuesday.
  • Reservations for the vehicle increased sevenfold compared to an average day, as website traffic increased by about 230%, an executive said Tuesday.
  • Biden’s visit included a tour of the factory as well as the commander-in-chief zooming around in the truck with GM CEO Mary Barra outside the plant.

Edit:  And I also remember when the White House met with the EV manufacturers, and excluded the one American company that's doing it profitably.  Around the world.  I'm thinking TESLA may have had something to contribute to the conversation.  But the WH was pissed off at Elon for Twitter (X).  I think the scientific term for that is "butthurt".

Actually, no, he's not allowed to drive on public roads.

Current and past presidents and vice-presidents aren't allowed to drive on pubic roads due to security protocols.

Your post has a hilarious Freudian slip, made my day.

Tesla has a waiver in some states to sell directly rather than through dealers.

Tesla, despite facing unionization attempts, remains an all-American automaker with its workforce remaining non-unionized, with no unions currently representing its workers in the US.

Um I love American cars and industry, but thats just a lie. Ford was the only one who didnt take money during the too big to fail era.

Unions are a scam.

yesterday by mistake I listen to him speaking while receiving PM of Ireland, it was all about him, keep repeating the same words over and over, the usual we doing greatness, greatest economy, will get our country back, the usual lies about the democrats did bad for this and that but actually his speech is not coherent, just blablabla and the same words coming out of his mouth, the orange man is not made to be in public service, he doesn't have the education nor the brains to correctly cover an answer when he's asked a proper question, he doesn't have the inteligence to keep up a good conversation, he let the Irish PM speak, looking at him with disdain and before anybody had the chance to ask questions to the PM  the orange man started to insult him in front of the cameras, """Ireland took the pharmaceutical jobs from us, took the pharmacy business from us and so forth, lack of class/education, if you have something to say you should say it in private that's the protocol, when the PM was speaking about the war in Ukraine the look into orange man face was worth a good laugh, the next 2 years going to feel long, very long but after that he will be impeached and maybe removed

So, you feel that trump should have spoken to the Irish PM privately, but the Irish PM can speak about the Ukriane war openly ?

Slightly hypocritical don't you think

More sad , i would say, is that the President of the United States endorses a product, which he clearly knows nothing about, for a friend !

What next ?

Endorsing Piggly Wiggly on tv ?

Elon Musk has told the White House he plans to give $100 million to President Trump's political operation, according to a person familiar with his plans

so no official statement then, I remember when Elon was supposedly giving 45m, everyone ran with the story, people like youself started squawking, when asked by a reported he said it was false.

Elon Musk Pumped a Quarter-Billion Dollars Into Pro-Trump Campaign Groups

Elon Musk poured roughly a quarter of a billion dollars into two pro-Trump political groups during the recent election cycle, new filings show, an extraordinary sum for an individual that far exceeds what he had publicly indicated he was giving.

The billionaire gave a total of $238.5 million in cash and in-kind contributions during the cycle to America PAC, the super political-action committee that he formed this year, according to a Federal Election Commission filing covering mid-October through Nov. 25. That total included $75 million in the last two weeks of October alone.

I agree 100% in fact I would say its part of his job to promote American industry.

Unfortunately or fortunately as the case may be I feel in this case outside of America it will have the opposite affect Tesla sales have already fallen off a cliff Trump promoting it will only make it worse.

I would hate to be a Tesla salesman in Canada or Europe.

It's not the radical left lunatics that are illegally boycotting Tesla it's ordinary people that want nothing to do with anything American but especially Trump Musk and by association Tesla.

You have no idea how much damage Trump has done to America, if this carries on America is going to be in one hell of a mess just hope the adults come out of the woodwork and put a stop to it
