Couple Arrested in Pattaya Car Theft Scam

A couple in Pattaya was arrested for an elaborate car theft scheme involving rented vehicles. They allegedly disabled GPS trackers and sold the cars on the black market, with victims in Chon Buri, Pattaya, Nonthaburi, and Kanchanaburi. On March 9, police arrested 48-year-old Thanakrit and 29-year-old Kanyakhorn after stopping a stolen car with mismatched plates. Investigations revealed they smuggled vehicles into Myanmar and Cambodia. Police are now tracking more victims as the crackdown on rental car fraud continues.
