A crash occurred on 13 March on the Somboon Road, near the market in the village of Non Khewa, Chaiyaphum Province, resulting in the deaths of a married couple. Authorities from the Kaset Sombun Police Station were alerted to the collision between a six-wheel lorry and a motorcycle.

Upon arriving at the scene, police and rescue teams discovered 52-year-old Boonsong Phinyoyang, the driver of the six-wheel lorry, which was stopped on the road. The blue truck, registered in Chaiyaphum, had been carrying a full load of corn and had sustained damage to the front. Also found nearby was a Honda Wave motorcycle, black and red in colour, with registration number from Chaiyaphum, lying wrecked in front of the lorry.

The motorcycle’s two riders, identified as 51-year-old Phloi and his 40-year-old wife, Wirawan, were found dead at the scene. The couple, both from the village of Kaengtad Sai in Nonthong Subdistrict, were returning from errands in the district when the fatal crash occurred.

According to preliminary reports, the lorry had been overtaking a school bus stopped at the side of the road to pick up students. However, the lorry had not fully cleared the bus when it collided head-on with the motorcycle, which was travelling towards it. The impact resulted in the immediate deaths of both the husband and wife.

Authorities have stated they will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and proceed with legal action as required.
