High chance they were given little choice in the endeavour by the organisers, who will never be caught.

Well, no risk no fun 🤗

Hugely reduced chance of getting his money back if he got rid of them.

Maybe not from those ones.. Pretty ruthless way of sending a message to the rest though.

Do they not even read AN? Do they exist in a news free world?

What is wrong with these people? They just walk straight into the net, one bunch after another, one day after another.

Weird.

It's obviously coordinated and I bet the back room boys'll soon be served up with this many leads to follow.

These dudes can be grateful they got caught before Singapore. Jesus. They must be real thick.

Are these people retards surely they can’t be that stupid or gullible to be talked into carrying luggage without knowing what’s inside ! There is a well known saying do the crime do the time enjoy your extended stay for the next few years in a hell hole of a Thai prison

It really makes you wonder what these guys were thinking. I know that desperation for money can cause people to do some really stupid things but how could they possibly presume that this quantity would not be found, with all the scanning equipment that's available today?

And you wonder now that they were found if their families will pay a price for their lack of success? The last thing I wonder is what will the penalty for something like this be, and is it possible that the bosses have arrangements with Thai officials?

Singapore? Great idea. There has to be a change of planes there, which means nosy dogs checking the baggage and freight, at least.

Silly Billy and his gang. Relatively lucky to get nabbed here but they will have to fess up 100%.

This mastermind seems to be a bit of a plank too.

WTF were they thinking, brain dead or what?

#Should think themselves lucky they were  not caught in Singapore I suppose.

Under Singaporean law, drug trafficking offences carry the mandatory death sentence with only narrow exceptions.

The employer arranged their travel tickets and accommodation in Thailand, where they were to receive the suitcases containing the cannabis. They were to transport the drugs out of Thailand by taking domestic flights to Koh Samui, before travelling from Koh Samui to Singapore and connecting to their final destination in the UK.

If successful, each individual would receive a fee of £2,000, approximately 86,000 Thai baht. Some suspects were also offered the chance to clear debts owed abroad by their employers.

Brain dead for sure. Most expensive 2K pounds they will ever experience. And the idiots planned to bring through death penalty Singapore !!!!!

Four British men arrested in an international marijuana smuggling operation, with 131kg of cannabis seized, as they prepared to fly out of Thailand from Koh Samui to the UK. They were found to have come to Thailand at no cost in exchange for transporting goods back, with the final price of 200,000 baht per kilogram.

On 16th March 2025, the Surat Thani Immigration Investigation Unit, in cooperation with Koh Samui Customs, Bo Phut Police Station, Koh Samui District Administration, and ISOC Region 4 (Koh Samui area), jointly arrested four foreign nationals along with eight suitcases containing a total of 131 kilograms of cannabis.

The arrested individuals were:

  1. Mr Antony, 63 years old, British national, with two bags containing 29kg of cannabis.
  2. Mr Billy, 37 years old, British national, with two bags containing 34kg of cannabis.
  3. Mr Philld, 63 years old, British national, with two bags containing 34kg of cannabis.
  4. Mr John, 34 years old, British national, with two bags containing 34kg of cannabis.

They were subsequently informed of the charges for attempting to take goods out of the Kingdom without undergoing the required customs procedures, in accordance with Sections 242, 252, 166, and 167 of the Customs Act B.E. 2560.

The case also involves offences under Section 78 in conjunction with Section 46 of the Act on the Protection and Promotion of Traditional Thai Medical Knowledge B.E. 2542 and the Ministry of Public Health's Announcement on Controlled Herbs (Cannabis) B.E. 2565, dated 11th November 2022. They are being prosecuted at Bo Phut Police Station.

The investigation revealed that the suspects were hired by a foreign employer to pose as tourists and transport cannabis for sale abroad.

In the last two days, a total of 375kg of cannabis in 22 bags has been seized, with a market value of 200,000 baht per kilogram if it were to reach its destination. The total value of the drugs seized amounts to nearly 75 million baht.

This significant amount of money serves as a powerful temptation for cannabis smugglers or international smuggling syndicates, who are willing to risk breaking the law in exchange for such substantial rewards.

Authorities are working together to crack down on cannabis smuggling operations in the area, ensuring that these criminals do not evade justice and escape to foreign countries. Investigations into the employers and other individuals involved in the operation within Thailand are ongoing, reported Amarin TV.

Are the authorities tracing the trail for the bookings, hotels &flight tickets, there has to an electronic trail leading back to the organisers?

Who overseas did the 'employer" owe funds?

& the employer is?

I reckon that it is the customs people at Samui airport.

3 major busts in 5 days.

Always 30 kg bags.

Same 2,000 GBP being offered along with free flights/hotels whatever.

The customs people are just recycling the dope.

It's the same bags every time. :cheesy:

£2000 to do that ? I'd dig roads over the choice of the 2...insanity and double insanity going through Singapore.

They should put photos of sniffer dogs outside the airport sniffing luggage and scanner photos detecting the weed (if that is possible) to make poor suckers like this think twice.

What kind of sentence would they get for this given its legal in the country...

5 years ago it would be life in prison right ?

Whoooosh !

Maybe it's got something to do with people struggling so much in the UK they're willing to do this but yes it a fair comment to say this is being coordinated. That's the end they need to find but from what I've seen the UK police are to busy arresting people for "hate speech" posts on social media.

Ah there you are. Today’s xenophobe frustrated  cos the perps are not brown skinned and actually have “proper” English names .

Your railing at the fact that “UK police are to (sic) busy arresting people for ‘hate speech’ posts” .

Just to be clear: do you think that people should be allowed to e.g. post on social media that it’s ok do far right thugs to burn down buildings housing terrified human beings?

Wouldn’t be surprised if these morons were part of the Farridge riots.

The “brains” behind this operation must have Thai useful idiots to deliver the goods to the hotels that these morons stay.

That would be a start to unraveling this.

Nothing to do with uk police. Importation are the remit of Border Force.

Has to be someone in the UK co-ordinating this, too many similarities

Obviously, but sounds like brain dead amateurs at best.  There is so much home grown cannabis in the UK it is hard to see how this makes much sense.

Mr Antony is smartest of the four carrying only 29kg rather than 34. He should get a lesser sentence. Or perhaps 5kg mysteriously disappeared from the 34kg he was supposed to have had.

It's stories like this that make you think oh my life is not so bad .

How low do you need to go before you start thinking this deal for £2000 is worth risking it all its not exactly life changing money with risks involved.

I'm sure even in uk you could get work to get £2000 or perhaps working for a living is not something these 4 consider 🤔

Ah well at least they have company whilst tucking in to fish head stew

As i mentioned in a previous post, this is the tip of iceberg, its been going on since they first legalised it, and the only way to stop or slow its progress is to start hitting them with heavy sentences, no one with a brain is going to risk 10 years in a Thai jail for couple of grand
