Thai Woman Loses Hand in Motorcycle Accident

A Thai woman lost her left hand after her shirt got caught in a motorcycle wheel while riding as a passenger in Songkhla on March 15. CCTV footage showed 55-year-old Sudarat “Taeng” Waranakhon’s shirt fluttering before being pulled into the rear wheel, causing her to fall. Her hand was severed and could not be reattached. Now in stable condition at Hat Yai Hospital, Taeng worries about covering medical costs, as she earns a living by collecting recyclable garbage. She remains in the hospital for further treatment and physical therapy, with expenses yet to be determined.
