In my opinion, Nicky's 99 baht breakfast looks better.

I have eaten at Cheap Charlie's twice: The first time I ordered an American Breakfast (couldn't see an English Breakfast on the menu; later found out that this is called a "Charlie's Breakfast" - whatever). They didn't have half the items for the American Breakfast, so I was given 3 eggs and 3 pieces of toast instead. When I received the toast (3 pieces), I said: "Where's the marmalade"? The waitress replied: "Oh, that is extra - 15 baht per (plastic portion) cup. I therefore ordered 2.

The second time I went there, I ordered a "Charlie's" (English) breakfast. This time, I didn't receive any toast but instead was given 2 pieces of fried bread - soggy and absolutely saturated in fat - on the side plate which should have been the toast. I thought of raising the issue with Charlie - who was constantly flirting with a waitress, but decided not to waste my time. I obvioulsy didn't eat the instant heart attack. This was the last time I visited the place - 2023, I think.

I've had both and Nicky's 99 baht is clearly better than the 149 Cheap Charlies, i expected better from them

Agreed. However do you have any idea what their bacon is in reality - as certainly shape wise it is not like any bacon I have eaten elsewhere?

Bacon is strange these days, not traditional, seems to be middle only

Never been in Nicky's for breakfast, but I like the bacon at Cheap Charlies, they get it from Prime Foods over on the Darkside, whenever in Pattaya I stock up for back home in Phitsanulok.

Good sausage and Cod steaks also.

Lord & Lady Sutus were there last week,  annual extension. Guinness and farang food fix.

Had four days of breakfasts in Cheap Charlies, my self the 99B one and wife the 159B one.

A couple of issues,   cold beans, and eggs not fried long enough. Their white bread is very good, not the usual sweet Thai breads, and a fine cup of tea.

One thing I find irritating is the staff plonk the bill on the table before any food has arrived.  Well that's just me, too much fine dining in the Mess....

Used to go to Nicky's when it was at the old address, good scran there too,  but I have mobility issues these days and easier to go to CC's.....

If the plate looks something like this I don't mind paying a little extra.

The salad might get tossed!

I was living in the hotel right next to Cheap Charlies and was told they do takeaways. I approached a waitress two nights in a row and was completely ignored by the same waitress.

I can understand her being busy but all it was required was, "please wait and I will attend to you" not just screwing her face at me and walking away.

Was that in Jomtien soi 5 ? Those waitresses in cheap charlies there are miserable. Lousy service.

No! Cheap Charlies in Soi Bukawo just before the hospital. Worst service I have seen anywhere in Thailand, and I've been here for 20 years. Great pity because the foods really good.

Yes food seems OK for the price but they don't seem to be able to cook eggs. Rushing too much I suppose. Just need to concentrate on service and push the waiting staff to be polite and offer the odd smile.

Looks totally disgusting.

Only thing wrong with it IMHO is the lack of bacon & black pud
