Why do people move to Thailand to discuss politics so much?

Absolutely agree. It is downright bizarre how many non-Americans on this site are more obsessed with American politics than Americans themselves. The one who started this topic alone spews out at least 50 Trump-related posts of pure drivel a day and is an Australian. Completely deranged. Meanwhile, he has the audacity to ask why so many people discuss politics on this site. His lack of self-awareness is off the charts. Bonkers beyond measure. 

 

And just look at how many non-Americans on the site have slapped some version of Trump’s face on their avatars like some kind of cult badge. I can think of at least four off the top of my head. Their obsession is beyond unhealthy. At this point, it looks like full-blown mental illness.

I'm not political but I know what Trump does affects me in some ways, at least eventually, and Americans here are still Americans, and if they collect SS or a pension, the government is involved. Non Americans are affected because most countries are affiliated with the US in some ways, and those ways have political, governmental, involvement.

Why do you assume i don't get out more? I might get out more than you. In fact, I might be older than you, which could mean I got out many more times in my life than you have, or maybe ever will. You said hundreds have said to you they don't know Aung Ing. I'm doubting you've asked three. Exaggerations don't fly with adults , and you lose credibility if you always use them. I know who he is, but wouldn't bother any farang friends here asking them if they did. We'd rather talk about fishing, hunting, other sports or if anyone knew a good farang restaurant close by.

I agree that he must have some type of mental illness. Why would a Ozzy bloke go around Bangkok trying to buy a Maga hat just to piss off other foreigners.  This thread would be funny if it was not so sad.

If my comments indicate a general lack of knowledge, you're not very bright and just fail to understand what I'm saying. You don't know where I live, English is spoken by a fair amount of people,I speak enough Thai to get by for 7 years, and translator does the rest, and when I watch Thai news, I'm with my English speaking girlfriend who translates what I don't understand. Living in Thailand, with Thai friends and family, you get to know who's in charge here Many farangs know about the move forward party..Any more assumptions?
