A love affair turned deadly when a woman demanded her lover divorce his wife, leading to a violent argument that ended in a fatal stabbing and a suicide at a  in Sawang Arom district, Uthai Thani.

At approximately 16:10 on 31 March, local police received a distress call reporting two bodies found inside a room along the Sawang Arom–Lat Yao road. Officers from Sawang Arom Police Station, along with forensic specialists and rescue teams, rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival at Room 4, police discovered a Honda Wave 125 motorbike parked outside, with a white helmet resting on the handlebars. Inside, the room was in disarray, suggesting a struggle had taken place.

On the bed lay the body of Mr Thongchai, 63, dressed in jeans but shirtless, with foam at the mouth. No visible wounds were found on his body. Nearby, on the bathroom floor, lay the body of Ms Sanit, 48, naked and covered in stab wounds, with a knife still lodged in her chest.

Police found a partially consumed pack of Viagra tablets in the bathroom, with three of the four pills missing. A blue shoulder bag and an empty knife sheath were also recovered from beneath the bed.

The hotel owner recounted how the pair had arrived on a motorbike around 11:20, booking a short-stay room. After two and a half hours, when their time was up, the owner knocked on the door but received no response. After several attempts, they peered through a window, only to be met with a horrifying sight.

According to police and initial family statements, the two had been in an affair for some time. They had set out earlier in the day to visit a temple in Krok Phra district, over 100 km away. However, along the way, they stopped at the hotel, where a heated argument erupted after Ms Sanit was heard demanding Mr Thongchai divorce his wife. When he refused, the confrontation is believed to have escalated into violence.

Authorities believe Ms Sanit stabbed Thongchai multiple times before he ingested something, leading to his death. However, a post-mortem examination will determine what was responsible for his demise.

The bodies have been sent to the forensic department at Nakhon Sawan Hospital for autopsy, as police continue to investigate the incident, but initial findings suggest it was a case of love, jealousy, and fatal consequences.
