Another Positive Move by Trump (hint: Kid Rock)

I'm not "a MAGA cultist".

Just trying to see facts as they are.

People who are claiming we're heading for another "Third Reich" seem silly and deluded to me.

What he's doing here is sane and helping the average concert-going fan.

He's cracking down on the scalping and gouging of concert ticket prices.

Sure, it's an "executive order". But that doesn't mean it's evil.

Seems like a good thing for both the artists and the concert fans.

Kid Rock, an artist, supports it.

These scalpers are scum, gouging people and making money off artist's hard work.

He can issue all the executive orders he likes. But are they legally valid? Is government by whim a good thing?

If the whole system is so corrupt that it would take 100 years to make a change AND if the changes are not nefarious, then it's ok. In this case, the only people who are getting screwed are scalpers, and they are leeches.

Typical justification to flout the rule of law. Usually, it's serious issues that are invoked to justify that. But in this case, the issue in question is a trivial one. No one's life is endangered or welfare threatened because concert tickets are costly.

Is telling authorities to enforce the laws in this area, which is all he is doing, likely to be illegal?

Which rule of law are you suggesting this EO flouts?

Because the president has no legal authority to punish people for charging whatever prices the market will bear except for national security matters. Is access to a Kid Rock concert a vital matter of national security?

If it oversteps into state  power, then it is illegal, no matter how well intentioned. This is a for show distraction and will  do absolutely nothing tof substance to protect consumers.

Rather odd that the concept is now embraced as a great idea, when it is  the MAGA states who have enabled the unfair profiteering. It has been progressive states that enacted legislation to protect consumers. The  39 state AGs and federal class action against Live Nation/Ticket Master is being led by the AGs of predominately Democrat states. The case has been so compelling that multiple Republican states have bowed to public presure and joined. However, since Trump's election, there is pressure on the federal government to stop the litigation,

It is the  MAGA states who enable the ripoffs.Examples are;

- Arkansas law prohibits local governments from banning the sale or resale of a ticket at any price.

- Florida law prohibits the original ticket seller from taking certain actions against a person who purchases or resells a ticket; and preempts regulation of the sale or resale of tickets to the state.

Trump is trying to get out in front of a wave of public anger.

Another win. I love Kid Rock's music though character wise he is a bit suspect.

Funny. The Trump administration is now making a point of consumers giving up nonessentials in order to focus on buying homes and getting their kids an education. Apparently, attending rock concerts is essential to their well-being.

First it was illegal immigrants & rapists & cartel members, now you're defending scammers and people over charging for concert tickets.....

If it oversteps into state  power

Perhaps you could explain what "overstepping into state power" by the President means.

No. I'm criticizing executive overreach. There are no crucial economic or security interests at stake in this decision.

There are people who will pay anything, they are called fans. Their choice to pay scalpers.

Another publicity stunt. Wake me up if it is effective.
