British Man Dies After First Muay Thai Fight on Koh Samui
A 30-year-old British man, Joseph Itai Rinomhota, tragically died after his first Muay Thai fight on Koh Samui. He collapsed following a strong kick to the ribs during the third round of his debut match at Samui International Stadium on 28 March. Though he left the ring unaided, he soon experienced spasms and breathing difficulties before collapsing. Despite CPR and an hour of resuscitation efforts at Thai International Hospital, he was pronounced dead at 23:00. Police are investigating the exact cause of death and coordinating with the British Embassy. Rinomhota had previously visited Thailand nine times.
