In a scene reminiscent of a horror movie, a papaya salad vendor made a shocking discovery while taking a break in a remote area of Pattaya. On 3 April, at 3:06 PM, Khwan Chaona stumbled upon a decomposing body behind the old fresh market in Soi Thung Klom, transforming her routine break into an unforgettable ordeal.

Police Lieutenant Natthabadin Thong-in of Nong Prue Police Station, responding to reports, quickly mobilised the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Team to the scene. Upon arrival, they were met by a crowd of locals near a makeshift tent where the body was found. The deceased, identified as 42-year-old Buason Simmawan, was discovered about 10 metres away, lying on a dirt mound amidst dense brush. Buason, originally from Ubon Ratchathani, worked as a watchman and was dressed in a grey t-shirt and shorts. His body showed advanced decomposition, suggesting he had been dead for at least a day.

While no immediate signs of external injury were noted, a full autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death. Witnesses reported that Buason had not been seen for two days, with his last sighting near the location where his body was found. He had reportedly been employed to cut grass in the area but had since vanished.

Locals revealed that Buason was a known heavy drinker and was often seen consuming alcohol, particularly white liquor. The discovery of an empty bottle beside him has led to speculation that alcohol could have contributed to his death.

Police Lieutenant Natthabadin has sanctioned a comprehensive forensic investigation. Buason's body has been sent to the Police Hospital’s Forensic Institute for further examination, as investigators work to unravel the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise, reported The Thaiger.
