Their life has no ....and please join me in saying this .....one two three .....their life has NO ROUTINE!!!

Routines in general are important. Army teaches that first. Good daily habits turn into months and years.

Got back into Australia Sunday and was at work by 10pm that night

I walked around my workplace that night smiling that I was back , waving to people who I didn't even know

I saw an African contract security guard his white teeth glistening in the dark with a wide  smile as I shouted "it's good to be back " !!

Of course I had never seen him before so he didn't have a clue what I was on about but he smiled neverless

But my point is , this week back in Australia I will have a "routine " something I didn't have in Thailand the last 5 weeks ,my work hours , sleep, all made into a routine

And thus that's where my study tour found......or should we say the "negative" of expats life

What was the fault ? NO ROUTINE

A Success in a expats life particularly living in PATTAYA of all places is ROUTINE

What happens without ROUTINE

You end up in a bar at 9am talking to Bob ,Reg ,Charlie drinking your problem away

You have all seen the bored expat particularly in Pattaya and dare  I say now.... CAMBODIA

Alcoholics because they lost their routine

Many went from routine in their Western country to nuthin

Many regret their decisions to move to Asia ,to Cambodia to Pattaya

Their life has no ....and please join me in saying this .....one two three .....their life has NO ROUTINE!!!

What do you know about expat life other than talking to some alcoholics?

Even they have a ROUTINE, going to the bar every day, get drunk, go sleep.

When in pattaya.

I get around on a Honda wave. shorts, flip flops, polo shirt, ray bands and a smile.

plus about 15k in the back pocket to ease any boredom.

Life is good.

What year are you planning on going to Pattaya  Thailand for the first time.

2026 maybe. :coffee1:

Yes my mistake, your posts indicate your a 23yo male who has retired from the  SAS and now living the good life on the war pension

Thankyou for your service Sir , especially at your young age and the sacrifice you made .

One thing that fascinates me is when people mention the brand name of something like you mentioned ray bands ,I often wonder why you don't just say sunglasses ,

I noticed you also used Honda,I'm surprised you didn't use the brand name for the flip flops too ?

I guess you being only 23 your generation may be brand obsessed so instead of saying the product you say the brand name

I had a acquaintance years ago who used to say the brand name of everything rather than the product

He would say Pascal's instead of candy or his "camel " shirts instead of just a shirt

I will wear my camel today he says

I wonder what the fascinating subject brand names have in people's dialogue

Even in South Africa, teeth do not "glisten".

They might glow, but not glisten.

I love that old toothpaste we used to be able to buy, made by the Taiwan-based company, Hawley & Hazel.

After it was bought out by Colgate, they changed the name to DARLIE....

I hate PC....!!!!

I know plenty of people that have routines including myself.  Much better and more fun then the west.  I certainly would rather be here then Austrailia.  Austrailia is an over priced inflated place with lots of crime and a huge mental illness problem.

Why is that if it is so great?  Because, it isn´t.

English is a universal language

Many older guys cannot learn the language for various reasons

It's members like "quake" who should be respected in here a 28yo war veteran who gave his service to all of us who is apparently living the good life now in Pattaya with his Honda motorcycle and Ray ban sunglasses and Nike flip flops

I do love how his generation use the brand name to describe what they are wearing ,I wonder why
