How long do you wait for takeout?

At least with a takeout you can ask them how long it will take.  Anything from 10-20 minutes would be OK with me.

After 25 minutes, I asked how much longer -  - 2 minutes they told me - I waited 15 more minutes and left.

Same,

I regularly order 2x 12" NY pizza using pizza co. App, delivered in under 30 minutes. Free delivery.

Sure, but this was not a situation of waiting for a delivery at home. I was a walk in customer.

So, after 25 minutes I asked when my food would be ready - they told me 2 minutes. After another 15 minutes, I walked out, though they told me it was nearly ready.

I felt badly - - but felt I had been treated badly - there were no customers but I did see family members walking in and out of the kitchen looking quite well fed...

I don't worry about waiting for takeout, I am reading a book on my phone while the food is prepared at the restaurant. Is takeout different to takeaway?

Don't use Grab or Food Panda, as I don't see how the scooter riders handle it. For all I know, they spit in farang orders.

Lucky you can't see what's being done to your food in the kitchen

15 years here, only food poisoning I got was from a Tops frozen meal.

First, I was a walk in at a restaurant - Sitting in the restaurant.

Second my home is an hour away and I did not want home delivery. I wanted to bring something with me to a friends place for her and her friends to have lunch..

I live too far away for home delivery and have also never had food home delivered,

So, after 25 minutes I asked when my food would be ready - they told me 2 minutes. After another 15 minutes, I walked out, though they told me it was nearly ready.

My question was not about home delivery - it was how long would you sit in a restaurant and wait?

ps - it was not food that I could or would have wanted to make at home.

Didn't they ask for payment at the time the order was placed?  Or did they refund you?

How would they know your nationality?

And they can see that from your phone app when you place your order?

I don't order by phone. I walk into the restaurant, place my order at the counter, then wait for the takeaway to come out from the kitchen.

Why bother with waiting/delivery times?

Make it and eat it at home.

In all my  years I have never had a food delivery of anything!

Sit in the restaurant or make it at home.

Well in all my born days I have alway taken a shine to having food delivered.

I like it.

You speak as one having authority yet I will continue to do what pleases me.

Yes, and the question is - - how long will you wait for the food? What if it doesn't come in 20 or 30 minutes?

After 25 minutes, I inquired and was told another 2 minutes - after 45 minutes, I walked out.
