I wonder what will happen if the visit to Thailand is an emergency and within the three days?

Visitors can file their TDAC up to three days before their arrival in Thailand. They will be required to fill in their passport or travel document details, address of accommodation in Thailand and certain health information.

Applications can be edited before submission and group submissions are also available.

If that is the case......

So if you can't write English as i suspect many Chinese cannot, it may cause a problem?

I am not picking on Chinese, but languages that dont use the Roman/English alphabet are going to be at a disadvantage.

I suggest that the smart way to implement this is to have Immigration lines at the airport such that there might be a 5 minute wait if you have done the stuff online but a 15 minute wait if you haven't.

Alternatively Swampy has free wifi and i suppose could be completed after one lands.

In later years I started getting the e-visa for Cambodia, preferable to the scrum to get a visa at PP Airport.

One minute before immigration in fact - they have already said there will be provision on arrival for those that didn't already complete it.

Yes indeed. I was watching a recent YouTube video on this subject in which was stated

"In special circumstances, Immigration Officials will be available at the checkpoint to assist persons without the DAC".

If I complete the DAC arrival details using my home computer, will an A4 sized paper copy be acceptable? I do not own a smartphone.

Yes. Probably that's the best idea in any case.

I assume if you already have a non o extension and a reentry permit you paid 1000 baht for you will still have to fill this out.

every time you enter Thailand

Amazing. This was announced a while ago on this site and all the same comments are appearing as they were back then.

It brings Thailand into line with other countries in the region and it ts hardly an imposition and I doubt it will stop a single tourist coming to Thailand.

I would not be surprised if Immigration refuses you entry.

I read a few days ago you apply within 3 days of your travel.

Indeed….  I often have travel at less than 12 hours notice… or have to change plans last min..,

…. Kind of makes this 3 day requirement somewhat tricky.

I'm reviewing the situation.....I think I better think it out again....

All your passport details already on their computer system. I don't understand why they need this and are the airlines going to refuse you boarding if you don't have it filled out one 15 hours before you've arrive.  What about people with their entry permit do they need to fill in another one.

Smart app versions on Android and iOS will soon be available to make the process even smoother.

I don’t think the new requirements will change the current process followed by an immigration officer. Currently they scan passports by putting them on a reader, then flip the pages to see if there are any red flags, check the photo to the face of the traveller, press the photo button and then put in a stamp.

might be wrong, but I think all that ( which isn’t much) will still be done. The details from the new system are just stored in case of need at a later date.

One issue is that it won’t let Thailand be entered as a country of residence. Perhaps an issue for long term visa holders who actually live in Thailand. Have to make up something I guess

Valid points....    in which case, the only value it has is to 'locate' a visitor by the address they put in the system.... Which IF someone is a criminal, they'll put a false address in anyway, which makes a mockery of the system.

Of course they will let you board....The TDAC is not a visa and has no requirements to be met to enter Thailand......100% zero requirements.......The TDAC only collects traveler data.....Same as the old TM6.......Nothing more...

Don't hold your breath.

The reason is that the Boss of Immigration can keep telling the Government Idiots that he is overloaded with work and needs more Lackeys.    After all they barely have enough now to keep running out to get Sweet Water Drinks and Snacks all day !

Visitors can fill in their TDAC forms three days before they arrive, inputting crucial details like passport numbers.

Tim on that TMT news channel, explained that it was up to 3 days before flight, so my understanding it can be done earlier, just have to wait for the cluster <deleted> to kick in.

I suspect this is just the run up to charging 300 baht for it, once established
