Dear Folks.

Why have Hollywood films deteriorated since 2000.....

Is is because Hollywood always panders to the Chinese audience?

And now, can we finally look forward to the return of great American Films?

Let's hope all this decoupling from that Commie Regime goes into...

OVERDRIVE...!!!

Wokeness in movies will linger for the next 3 years before it recovers.  When I watch a modern movie and the cast contains a heterosexual non-interracial married couple with two straight kids and a dog, you know that this is simply tokenism. :coffee1:

Chinese movies can be fun, at first.  People flying around, fighting,  jumping great heights  and twisting ,  and my favorite: two opposing groups facing each other—but only one at a time speaking.  After a while, though…

After a while, though, it all looks like an Indian Film...yes.

Films must be cultural, or no one watches them.

There must be different films for different cultures, and different segments of the same culture.

China should dump their USA bonds.

They are actually not planning on buying any more. That's when Trump will blink and pause tariffs on China "for 90 days" while treasury yields go through the roof and threaten to tank the US economy. Stay tuned.

It's too late for US movies IMO. They passed the tipping point long ago, and are never going to be "good" again. Just look at the fiasco about Bond movies for proof.

BTW, enjoy real actors while you can. AI will be eliminating them shortly.

True.... But it would be amusing if China tanks the US economy !

Seems that you are the one whose feelings were hurt. You will die alone, does the truth hurt?

I, for one, welcome the collapse of Hollywood, mostly because my washing machine has been communicating with low flying drones ever since Mad Max Fury Road came out. Coincidence? Doubtful. Even Tina Turner tried to warn us in Thunderdome but no one listened, not even the gangbangers who now control most regional earthquake distribution centers.

Meanwhile, the girls down at the salon are fluffing their hair like it’s 1987 again, which as every proper scientist will tell you, is the final phase before spontaneous global jazz fusion eruptions. Idiots keep blaming CGI and studio interference but we true artists know it’s about power delivery failures in the Starlink uplinks that redirect creativity through Belarus.

So yes, maybe China banning Hollywood is the reset we need. Maybe now we can get back to the basics, typewriters, lava lamps, interpretive dance films about quantum bananas. Or maybe it’s already too late and Tom Cruise has merged with an AI washing machine.

All we can do is wait and fluff.

Made in Australia, not Hollywood.

Well that's a really good point and that could really be good news. If Hollywood does not have to pander to Chinese audiences and dumb down their films for that audience perhaps films will improve. No question Hollywood's been putting out a lot of garbage in the last couple of decades and the best films that are coming out are independents like Anora, the Peanut Butter Falcon, Drive, Spotlight, Mud and many others.

Just say no to the Marvel, Transformers, and Fast and the Furious type garbage.

Thanks. And it was fun flick. Bizarre and way out there. Alot of good Aussie and foreign movies, thankfully.

Posts using derogatory and toxic nicknames or intentional misspelling of people’s names will be removed. If you don’t want your post to be removed, spell people’s names correctly, this applies to both sides of the political debate.

Dumb it down for the Chinese?
