China tells airlines to suspend Boeing jet deliveries

China has told its airlines to stop taking deliveries of jets from American aviation giant Boeing, a report said Tuesday, as a trade war between Beijing and the United States deepens.

Given Boeings high standards for aircraft (haha) they can always pawn their planes to another country. This will not hurt the company any more than their planes crashing from substandard building and maintenance.

Trump's fusillade of tariffs has roiled world markets and upended diplomacy with allies and adversaries alike.

The mercurial US leader announced an abrupt freeze on further hikes last week but gave Beijing no immediate reprieve.

This Article is completely biased. They leave out pertinent information related to the topic like... Those countries he suspended the tariffs agreed to come negotiate a viable trade deal with Trump and the US. Beijing just wants a fight and now they have it with Trump. Neither wants to fold.

Maybe China's next step will be to stop all trade. They will of course suffer more repercussions than the US.

Let the trade (wars) begin. We all knew it was coming in the next few years anyway.

Oh dear. I hope the Chinese peasants won’t starve nt that the price of soybeans from the US has become so expensive…

Do you realize that most Chinese people earn less than 1000 USD per month to live on? That is the average salary for a full time job. Some make even less. Any price increases will surely hurt them quite a lot. Especially to the average person struggling to pay their bills and save a little money.

When I worked there, I was making more than 3 times the salary than the other local teachers.

Please do point out a single comment of mine supporting trump. Why do you people never learn.

I'll expect the normal response.

Where will the Chinese buy their airplanes from?

Airbus is facing significant challenges in meeting the strong global demand for aircraft. The company has a backlog of 8,000 airplane orders and aims to deliver 720 planes in 2024, but supply chain issues, particularly with engines, have hampered production and delivery timelines

They could always buy used planes and refurbish them themselves. They also know how to build airplanes. China manufactures both commercial and military airplanes.

Military aircraft: China is a major producer of military planes. Companies like AVIC (Aviation Industry Corporation of China) develop and produce fighter jets, bombers, transport aircraft, and drones. Notable examples include the Chengdu J-20 stealth fighter and the Xian H-6 bomber.

Commercial aircraft: China is also investing heavily in commercial aviation. The state-owned company COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) developed the C919, a narrow-body airliner designed to compete with the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320. COMAC also produces regional jets like the ARJ21.
