Why so many conspiracy theorists and what to do about them

No, it (potentially) has multiple benefits.

- The air will be far less polluted.

- The traffic will be far less congested.

- Parking lots may be converted to green space and cities will be more livable.

Where do you draw the ine? The UK is already talking of carbon scores linked to digital IDs, which opens the door to punishment for not complying with government-imposed quotas.

If there are differences, then they are de facto two separate things. There can be no difference between an element and its category. I can't ask Gemini "what is the difference between a car and a vehicle", for example.

LOL.... You're truly flailing about now.  Your pedantry is astounding.  Ford and GM produce automobiles that are significantly different.  Do you call them both cars?  People also refer to the Ford Model T as a car, dummy!

Conspiracy theorists will continue to put a negative spin on it.

But there are many positives to owning nothing.

For instance, you can rent a different car every month.

And car ownership costs will be less because you are renting so no need to pay all the associated fees. Plus no need to worry about parking.

It's only because you have a pre-conceived notion that everything the establishment does is evil, you will obviously interpret this as a diabolical plot to control you and keep you small. Ie ownership has been traditionally seen as a sign of status in the world.

It's all a matter of perception.

You think you'll still own money?

Do you have a supercomputer between your ears?

Can you estimate when the planet will run out of resources at the current levels of consumption?

Or can you estimate when massive natural catastrophes will occur that may wipe out millions of people because the earth needs to "re-calibrate" due to all the pollution?

How can you possibly know "where to draw the line"?

You underestimate the complexity of all these issues people in power are faced with.

As I said, keep on playing dumb for everyone's amusement.

From your imaginary friend:

Yes, chat rooms are a fundamental form of social media, essentially the precursor to modern platforms, focusing on real-time text-based social interaction, though today's social media platforms have evolved to include profiles, content sharing, and broader features, with apps like Discord serving as modern chat-room-style social hubs. They facilitate group communication, shared interests, and community building, differing mainly in technology and feature depth from newer sites.

Ford and GM are both in the 'car' category. Forums and social media are both in the 'community platform' category. Telling someone the claim they don't use social media is dumb because they use a forum is like telling someone the claim they don't drive a Ford is dumb because they drive a GM.

You can't talk your way out of it. I recommend doing what you do best and dropping out of the exchange.

An exchange happens when both parties bring something... you've brought along nothing except ill-formed queries to AI, a boat load of pedantry and poor reading comprehension.

Gold and real estate is real money, if you have 100% possession of it then you own it.

It looks like money may be "controlled" within certain boundaries.

You may not be allowed multiple international trips in one year because that might exceed your carbon footprint. Not sure what it will look like.

One theory is that you have a monthly allotment. Whatever you don't spend, you lose. But that actually keeps the economy rolling because people cannot save for the future ??? It's a weird concept that I haven't quite grasped. That would mean no more recessions? No more highs, and no more lows. Just stable consistent levels of spending. That's my understanding.

This animation is not meant to be taken literally. It's part dystopian sci-fi worst case scenario / maybe trying to be funny or ... I don't think we'll be living in prisons.

But ... watch at 11:25 ... he has 5 Tokens left and if he doesn't spend them, they will expire in 7 days. You cannot "save for the future" under this system.

Sorry, it might be too restrictive and controlling. Who knows?

Have your bugle boy sound the retreat!!

The term "social media" first appeared around 1994, coined by Darrell Berry while developing an online environment called Matisse, evolving from early internet concepts to interactive user spaces, with platforms like SixDegrees (1997) formalizing profiles and connections before the boom of Facebook and Twitter.

Do I need to remind you that web browsing only made its public debut in 1993?

tell that to the people on the Cambodian border, or on Phuket after the Tsunami.

Gold has no functional value at all – it basically performs exactly the same function as currency and of course, it's easy to steal too - take a look at the baht gold shops in Thailand

I don't create the definitions.  I just know and use them better than most.

Take it up with Webster:

social media

noun

: forms of electronic communication (such as websites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (such as videos)

I'm not here to win… and I don't have the EQ of a pre-teen. Make a valid point and it will be acknowledged out of principle.

How hard do we have to work for you to see that our points are valid?  This last one was denied, denied and denied a few more times.

Well, as this is a forum, other users can easily judge who is full of **** or not, my dear gambs.

Correct, and there are thousands of web pages explaining the difference for the small minority of people who still don't know in 2025.

And how many of those thousands are considered official definitions of American English?  Or..... as usual do you think lay opinions are just as valuable as long established experts?

Find the el gato post i list here.... as i have also made the point occassionally on AN that the people causing the problems are the ones pointing fingers at others .  Classic,  "i didn't fart..HE DID ! "

Lots of big words in this el gato stack ..... good for brain exercise ( so many of you should stay away) .   "just another conspiracy theory "

prebunking the prebunk at home and abroad

and making some predictions for 2026

Yep, I would say that's a pretty accurate summary and assessment of what is on the cards for the near future. Or, as some of us Q drop/4chan nutjobs have been saying for a few years, "nothing can stop what is coming".

No denying that. Long-term general optimism does not preclude short-term strategic adaptation.
