Hey Charlie, can we get rid of the anonymity of the emojis? maybe have a poll first, I'll post it if you give the nod.

I'll add that facebook and another forum i use both show who made the emojis, so it's more normal to show

No, subject to probably the most abuse, it makes moderation an absolute nightmare. Why? Because people see who did then you get retaliation; feuds start that way, and Mods have to clean up the mess.

Strong disagreement from me on that idea    negative comments and disagreements are vital for a healthy discourse ,  censorship should not be necessary if the argument is convincing,   petty name calling and flame wars are all part of a robust conversation that has been going on since the days of the Bulletin Board  dial up modem days.

Too many very thin skinned easily offended persons  about nowadays

offended by  a confused or sad emoji... come on

Take away the disagreement and you quickly left with a very stale ,boring   echo chamber  IMHO

Up to a point . But there are some not so bright people who like to misuse some emojis. 🙏

Like, thumbs up, Love it and agree are more or less the same,

Thumbs down is new one on me, when do I use it.

The Laughing face is ambiguous, either you think the post is funny, or you think it is stupid.

And as for the Heartbroken..............who thought of that one, great for sarcasm.

Thumbs down is very popular, more so than the old sad face

That's right, bring back the confused face, all is forgiven

The confused one was perfect for stupid posts, I miss that guy.

This, ten times over!!

I hardly need three different emojis denoting that I like a post, but between disliking a post and simply finding something unfathomably stupid is a big difference.

I use it quite often, when bored and if I see some silly comment that has no basis, or comes from someone that spews the same silliness over and over.

I usually won't comment, as the person will repeatedly comment, with even more silliness, and my commenting is wasted time, in my life, for no reason, and I'll never get that time back.

I have far better things to do.  I don't think I use the confused, as I'm not, or if the poster is, pointing it out probably won't help anyone.

As an aside, I gave everyone on my ignore list (4+ pages) a reprieve, except for 2, as I do miss some of the comic relief that they provide.   So I'm using the laughing emoji a lot more.

I usually just ignore the topics or threads, but coming in on 'new comment' page, I do get to see the funny last comments.

Agree with your thinking, in fact I call that emoji my "place holder" emoji.
