Plenty of virtue signalling on this subject by members who,if they could would willingly kick a Thai ( of their choice) up the arse.

I noticed.

Looks like quite a few "undercover" racists in this forum.

Some seem to believe they can violate peaceful local groundlessly (just because they are from the wealthier nations?).

Disgusting attitude.

They won't imagine what if the opposite happened to them.

I thought his visa was revoked a while back? maybe fake news

That's the thing with visas. You can just get another one and unless you're on the blacklist nobody cares.

Someone catch me up here.   Have they explained why he missed his court date?

Regardless of the water under the bridge (or spilt milk if that's the way you lean), that was dumb unless he has a good excuse.

You think?

So the accusation that he kicked a pregnant woman in the stomach because she was sitting on a stairway would happen to every foreigner in Thailand?

So where did you hear that she was pregnant and he kicked her in the stomach?

I recall reading that he kicked her from behind, (which could be construed as even more cowardly) and he said that he slipped. Watching the rather indistinct video, it's funny how the "slip" was followed up with not an apology, but by shouting "get the f**k off, get the f**K off"!"Additionally, if someone slips, they nearly always make some gut reaction sound (like "Oh,s**t or something similar)  but I can't hear anything to that effect here! Also I can't  remember it being mentioned anywhere that she was pregnant.

Anyway, he comes across as being an arrogant rich foreigner who thinks he can treat the local Thais like cotton plantation workers, and has found that in this case he can't pay her off (as would have happened if she was from a less influential family)

If he hasn't skipped the country already, I would suggest that he does so soon, because he is certainly not winning any friends here with his behaviour, and to not turn up at court with no reason/excuse shows the world what type of an arrogant moron he is.

He could have asked them to leave in a nicer manner , it was his ignorant attitude of get the f**** off that made him look a complete dickhead  , diggers were in a few days later removing his precious step boundaries that he should have never  put there in the first place

I don't care who owned the stairs. Idiot Swiss had no reason to bother her.

You'd be  OK with a bunch of Thais hanging out at your front gate playing music/drinking/chatting loudly late at night?

Just stop. It was a beach. 2 women were talking at the foot of the illegal stairs.  Don't conflate bulll&$&$& with the truth.

I know you're not keen on women, but have you seen the video?? They're sitting there quietly chatting to themselves. No "chatting loudly", no drinking, no playing music, no "bunch of Thais".

Victim blaming is ugly, especially when it was a man being the aggressor against a woman.

Hardly a victim, I've had worse injuries stubbing my toe!

Just love reading all the merciful comments about this SOB. Yes fine hi 500 baht and deport him from Thailand with no possible return for 10 years. He is a guest in this country and has NO RIGHT to kick a women albeit pregnant for sitting on his steps. Total a-hole.

This case is a very real deal that all of us expats must remember, I watched the video and it did look to me like he slipped, however I did not see him kich her,,,, later she showed her back and their were no marks on her body and now the thais are coming after this guy big time,,I'm not in anyway defending him, but looking at the evidence he's been set up which means these thais can do it to anyone of us.

Thailand is so racist it's amazing us Farangs have no rights at all.

You are mixing up  2 news reports. He did not kick a pregnant woman, that was a Russian woman who kicked a sale girl in a cafe. The salesgirl was pregnant.

The Swiss guy allegedly *slipped* and kicked a girl who was sitting on public owned steps in front of of his house. The girl was a Doctor at Dibuk hospital. She said he was angry with her and her friend for sitting on his steps. The steps turned out to be public beach steps.

Don't be ridiculous.

Don't shout "Get the f*** off" at innocent women who were sitting quietly, don't kick them, don't have your wife threaten to shoot them, don't act like an entitled idiot when given the chance for a mutual apology and to both walk away. Don't do those things and the Thais leave you alone.

I've never once shouted at a random woman aggressively, never kicked one, never threatened to shoot one, never tried to bully one. Weirdly no Thais have "come after me", none of my rights have been infringed. I wonder why?

Geez, this is alleged a kick? Normally, that's just a 500-baht fine.
Funny how the law starts to bend when it's a battle between the rich and the influential over who's right.

Any one who kicks anyone in the back especially a woman should be in jail a minimum of 6 months. This guy is pure trash. Anyone who condones this behavior is along side him.

it wasn’t even his property let alone his right to do such an act. Someone needs to horse whip him. Second Swiss Man to attack a woman other one was a beating of an older woman in a grocery store. What’s with this behavior. Is this Swiss culture?

Very doubtful but obviously giving Swiss people a Black Eye in Thailand and hurting the rest of us also. Throw the Book at him then throw him out of the country permanently my vote.

The whole thing sounds kind of stupid so some girl sitting on a guy’s stairs by the beach maybe if you wouldn’t done anything she would’ve left in 10 or 15 minutes how much money would he saved the expensive lawyers and other stuff was it worth it obviously he did not handle the situation correctly and there should be some consequences now I’m not sure what those consequence obviously the girl kicked wasn’t in the hospital so couldn’t have been that bad of a kick and I don’t know about slipping non-slipping I don’t know I just like to know Was able to open up an elephant sanctuary I don’t know foreigners could do that but I do believe foreigners that are living here should be on their best behavior because if you have to go against the Thai person I think most of the time the foreigners is gonna lose the battle TIT

I perceive this Swiss guy as a complete self entitled arrogant person. Would not give away to an ambulance. Irrespective of what social standing those two ladies were, who were sitting on his steps. He had no right to go down and assault them either intentionally or unintentionally and verbally abuse them with foul language.   He used the excuse that his home  had been broken into before, but no evidence has ever been produced.  He’s elephant sanctuary is only a ruse to fill his bank account.  He could not give a hoot about the welfare of elephants just as long as the money keeps rolling in

It is not the strength of the kick that matters. It is the way the other party was treated especially when the kicker is the foreigner . I think there is Thai face factor involved  too. Maybe even a feeling of nationalism ? The Thai person is a doctor too. A profession that is held high in Thai culture. I believe the outcome would have been different if the doctor is just some everyday Thai person like a beach vendor, garbage recycler or a person of a lower social status.
