A shocking road rage episode unfolded yesterday outside Nong Yai Temple in Pattaya, when a motorcycle taxi rider attacked a passenger van, turning a serene temple road into chaos. The incident, captured on camera, has left locals appalled and calls for justice mounting.

The disturbing scene, which quickly went viral, shows the biker cutting in front of the white Chon Buri-to-Rayong van, abruptly halting his bike, and launching an aggressive assault on the vehicle using a heavy object. The attack left the van's windows shattered as onlookers watched in horror.

The van driver, 25-year-old Thongmai Khotlakham, recounted the unsettling experience to local reporters. He explained that the biker gestured for him to exit the vehicle. "I had a full load of passengers and didn’t want trouble, so I stayed put," he said. Angered by Thongmai's refusal to exit, the biker proceeded to smash the van's left, right, and front windows before fleeing the scene.

Thongmai insisted that there was no prior conflict or provocation on his part, leaving him bewildered by the biker’s violent outburst. "I’ve no idea what set him off," he stated.

As the video spread across social media, there was an outpouring of anger from netizens demanding accountability for the biker’s actions. Local news outlet Pattaya News reported on the online fury and calls for justice.

Despite the damage, Thongmai continued his route to ensure his passengers reached their destinations. He intends to file a police report and pursue legal action against the assailant once his duties are completed.

This incident highlights the unpredictable nature of road interactions and the need for calmness in the face of provocation. Authorities are expected to investigate the matter thoroughly to ensure that justice is served and confidence in road safety is restored.

I wonder what nationality the biker was?

Perhaps a foreigner, quite a few road rage foreigners are in Pattaya, mostly found on Soi Buakhou.

What did the van driver do to upset the taxi biker so badly?

Having witnessed plenty of van drivers bad driving skills, that was my first thought too.

Most likely the Van driver cut of the motorbike before but he is oblivious to his wrong doing.

That is my guess. It happens to me on daily basis, being cut off by vehicles of all kinds. The van drivers are the worst.
