Comparing the Mango Mussolini to Mussolini is unfair to Mussolini. Mussolini was a journalist and an actual intellectual.

Some comparisons have been made to Idi Amin Dada. They communicate is similar ways

Putin is 72, so he has plenty of time to invade Europe, even though he waited 20yrs  already😃

Yea, expats don't even want to go back to Europe.   Those stuck there, if they can afford them, don't even holiday there.  Seems people can't wait to retire and leave, if not deep rooted.

Do you think Putin wants more headaches.  Why do you the USSR cut the now eastern EU away, as a drain on their resource.

Before anyone jumps in, I left the USA, because I was bored, overtaxed when there, though in retirement that wouldn't matter.   I could probably find a little slice of heaven over there, with low RE taxes.   Just everything is easier here, TH.

More silliness ...

... what countries did Trump invade

... who did he send to and where are the death camps

... anyone made to wear armbands

And here I thought falsehoods weren't allowed on AN.

Hitler did none of those things in 1934 either. After he had consolidated power he did though.

He's not Hitler, but if he could be, he would be.

He certainly owns 100% of the Neo Nazi demographic. I'm going to guess there are zero---ZERO---Neo Nazis who voted either for Biden in 2020 or Harris in 2024. POTUS owns them, white supremacists and even Incels. HYe certainly owns the "Camp Auschwitz" sweatshirt demographic.

Folks who carry tikitorches and chant "Jews will not replace us" stand as "very fine people" in his mind.

His first wife claimed the only reading material he kept next to his bed were the speeches of Hitler.

He's certainly a fascist and anti-the US Constitution, such as free speech, press freedom and due process.

He argued in front of DoJ officials that criticizing him "must be illegal, and you should investigate those who say bad things about me". That is pure fascism.

He pardoned the stormtrooper terrorists who attacked the US Capitol, beat and bear sprayed 140 police officers, and set up gallows to hang the Vice President----all in an attempt to subvert democracy. Very fascist.

He now has Immigration agents stopping and questioning naturalized American citizens returning from overseas visits. That is widespread (stories online everywhere) and has even impacted my own family, where in laws are naturalized American citizens---some even served.

Yes, he isn't Hitler, but if he could be, he would be.

Estimates suggest that 10 million U.S. citizens reside outside the United States in 2020, a significant increase from 4 million in 1999.

According to Eurostat, in 2021, approximately 10 million EU citizens currently reside outside of the EU.

With a population 113 million in excess of the US, it seems the US is even less popular than the EU for its own citizens.

Oh my goodness - "Trump is Hitler" again, lest we forget.

JEWISH MAGAZINE SAYS, "TRUMP IS HITLER," SO IT MUST BE TRUE

I guess it's true, 'eh?  Whoa whoa whoa... wait a minute 'tho.  But but but, Putin Is Hitler too.  How do we defy the laws of physical reality if "Trump Is Hitler" and "Putin Is Hitler" too.  🤔  And no doubt Xi Is Hitler, and Kim Is Hitler, and the Ayatollah Is Hitler.  So many Hitlers.  The fabric of the universe must have ripped to dump so many Hitlers all over the place.
Well the only thing we can actually be sure of is that Biden ISN'T Hitler - he's just senile.  Thank God we can take comfort in that.

This OP is from the opinion of a rabid author who is prolific in writing articles attempting to make false equivalences with Trump and Hitler.

"These comparisons are not only intellectually lazy but dangerously distort historical reality."

A recent column attempts to draw direct parallels between Donald Trump and Hitler’s rise to power, claiming we are witnessing history repeat itself. While it is essential to study history and learn from its lessons, weaponizing the Holocaust and the suffering of the Jewish people for modern political debates is not only inaccurate but deeply irresponsible.

To be clear: Trump is not Hitler. The United States in 2024 is not 1930s Germany. These comparisons are not only intellectually lazy but dangerously distort historical reality.

My mother had the honor of hearing Einstein speak. I'm certain that Einstein would be very horrified about the rise of fascism in America.

What fascism? You're not referring to Trump, are you. The man who won millions of votes? And exposed Biden as being the senile, loony- who was also corrupt. Trump is not a fascist- he's a saviour of America.

It's obvious isn't? Canada is the Sudetenland, so many English speakers there, soon to be annexed.

China is Russia, obviously, they are ACTUALLY communist, at least on paper.

So we just have to watch out for the British to carpet bomb New York, Boston and Miami if they don't get that trade deal.

Jewish newspapers can see it clearly, only we can't.

   Not this again !!!!!!!!!

He said that there were bad people there (those Nazis you quote ).

But there were fine people on both side .

The Nazis were the bad people and the non Nazis were the decent people .

How can you not know that by now, or are you deliberately being deceptive ?

Why don't you tell that to Steve Cohn, the ex-Goldman Sachs exec who served as an economic advisor and almost quit after that 'very fine people'.

Virtually ALL of the Confederate statue supporters participated in the tikitorch march.  Not a single one of them spoke out against the chant. Certainly POTUS had no clue of any who did not chant, so you're giving credit where it is not due.

Believe what you need to in favor of your messiah.  He called anti-Semites "very fine people". No way to parse it otherwise.

He has actually ruined America remarkably quickly.

Trashed it's reputation permanently.

Declared hostility to the entire world (except Russia).

Healthcare is probably a big part of that.  Especially since ACA (obama care) jacked up the cost, the actually healthcare, and more so the insurance, which doesn't even kick in the first $10 or $12k depending on policy.

It would be hard to leave almost free healthcare if you had issues.  Medicare plan B - C - D ain't cheap.  And the cost of using, jacks up everything.

I see pharmacist on YT & FB explaining how silly the rules are IF the accept insurance.  They can't even till you it cheaper to buy the meds with cash, than your deductible cost, if using insurance.  That's nuts.

In an op-ed for Forward this week, author Terrence Petty likened Trump's demonization of his self-declared enemies to Hitler's attempt to blame Jewish people for Germany's loss in World War I. The tactic was known as the Dolchstosslegende, or stabbed-in-the-back legend.

I think the first thing that probably jumps out of this claim is the fact that Trump isn't doing the thing that they say is like "Dolchstosslegende".  🤷‍♂️

He isn't demonising anyone, they do that to themselves, and he isn't blaming them for anything that they haven't done.

This is kind of childish and just a continuation of the syndrome which cannot be named.  Basically Trump cannot point out the bad things that anyone has done, nor the harmful effects these bad things have had on society, less he be labelled the American Hitler.

If Trump was lying about what a group was doing, and blaming them for something for which they are not responsible, I would say that they have a point.  But he isn't doing that, so they don't.

"Donald Trump has created an American version of the Dolchstosslegende, propagating a myth that the nation is being led to ruination by Joe Biden and the Democrats, prosecutors who go after Trump, judges who rule against him, non-MAGA news media, practitioners of 'wokeism,' and elite universities, among others," Petty wrote.

So what does he say when the Dems blame everything on Trump and the Republicans?  Suddenly that isn't a problem?  Both sides always blame the other in politics.  🙄

The article in question.

Will magas read it? (ha ha).

Most of the "debate" here has absolutely nothing to do with the content of the oped.

Typical.

How Trump's grab for power evokes an infamous Nazi lie – The Forward

From his failed Beer Hall putsch in Munich in 1923 to the Third Reich’s downfall 22 years later, Adolf Hitler spewed venom against what he called the “November Criminals” — Marxists and Jews who he claimed were responsible for Imperial Germany’s defeat in November 1918.

Hitler’s assertion, based on a conspiracy theory concocted by Germany’s losing generals and conservative politicians, was ultimately embraced by much of the German populace. In German, this myth is called the Dolchstosslegende, or stabbed-in-the-back legend.

Donald Trump has created an American version of the Dolchstosslegende, propagating a myth that the nation is being led to ruination by Joe Biden and the Democrats, prosecutors who go after Trump, judges who rule against him, non-MAGA news media, practitioners of “wokeism,” and elite universities, among others. Trump sometimes lumps together those who oppose him as Communists. Red baiting was good enough for Joe McCarthy, so why not for Donald Trump? All of this is utter nonsense, of course, but this American stabbed-in-the-back lie is at the core of Trump’s assaults on democracy.
