A fatal road crash occurred outside a local municipal office in Khlong Saen Saep Subdistrict, Chachoengsao Province, leading to a female municipal employee being killed in a three-vehicle collision during her morning commute.

Police Lieutenant Sakchai Jantana, an investigator at Bang Khana Police Station, received reports of a crash involving multiple vehicles on the Bang Nam Priao–Bang Khana Road, Moo 3, Bang Khana Subdistrict. Emergency responders from Chachoengsao Rescue Unit were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities found a black sedan with damage to both the front and rear, positioned in the middle of the road. The driver, a 41-year-old woman and municipal employee, was critically injured and rushed to Bang Nam Priao Hospital, but she later succumbed to her injuries.

Nearby, a white Toyota commuter van, registration from Chonburi, had veered off the road into a grassy area. The van was transporting five employees of an energy drink company, all of whom sustained minor injuries and were treated at a local hospital.

Also involved in the incident was a white Isuzu delivery pickup truck with a closed cargo compartment, which suffered front-end damage.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had been waiting to turn into the municipal office when her stationary sedan was struck from behind by the speeding delivery truck. The force of the impact propelled her vehicle into the path of the oncoming van, resulting in a devastating head-on collision.

Mr Thawatchai, 38, the van driver, told police he had just picked up night-shift workers from a factory to take them home. He recalled seeing the sedan waiting to turn when the delivery truck smashed into it, pushing it into his lane and leaving him no time to react.

Authorities have launched a full investigation and will proceed with legal action.
