"Woke" is not only concerned with Trump. Trump is not the edge of the cliff; he's just a bump in the road (hopefully).

But you deflect, my example clearly was, why not read it again

  • Just another opinion piece from the left. Not sure, for example, how getting men out of women's sports is "a consolidation of power" and a "threat to liberty". This is clearly about women's rights..

  • When the Left is in power they are all about implementing the Censorship Industrial Complex. When the Right is in power, suddenly the Left becomes 1st Amendment absolutists.  Hilarious.

Marx was all about a working man getting a fair share of the profits from his labour.

Women and non-whites were never mentioned in his works, as they were considered property at that time.

In his personal life, he married a Baroness, lived off her income, and impregnated both her and her maid servant.

Communism is entirely different!

Wow! I agree with everything you said above.
Communism is not " about a working man getting a fair share of the profits from his labour." In communism, people contribute to society the best they can, and all the assets of society are shared equally, regardless of race or gender (or trans gender).
I didn't know about the other historical "facts" about Marx. He means nothing to me. I only associate him and the term "Marxist" with communism. Thanks for the history lesson.

So, are you indeed, as you've said, a "Marxist"? And if so, what does that mean?

That is the definition of "woke" that Merriam-Webster and I use.

Why would you purposefully deny the new negative meaning being used and try to force the meaning that you know is not?  Unless you wanted to try to prevent people from criticising something that you like?  🤔

But, no one would do that, would they???  🫢

I do consider myself "woke," and believe I have been for at least 40 years."

I deny the negative meaning because it is not the way I define "woke," and it is not the way I am. The negative connotation of "woke" is being used by people who are not in favor of the characteristics that "woke" means, which can be summed up in one word: empathy.
I don't really care if anyone criticizes me. I listen, and if I agree with their criticism, I will change my actions. If I disagree with their criticism, I note it but don't act on it.

Georgi Dimitrov, one of the famed anti-fascist leaders of the 1930s, provided the beginnings of an answer:

Dimitrov was a big pal of Stalin's and survived all the purges of the Thirties unscathed.

I take it that you don't think that Dimitrov's views of fascism are suspect because of the company he kept?

Yet any man who reveals that he voted for Trump is likely to be shunned by Democrat voters, his views on almost any aspect of life being held in contempt.

Too bad your Trump hatred syndrome prevents you from giving Trump the benefit of the doubt on what his radicalism is trying to achieve in four short years.

You mean giving him the benefit of the doubt on what he "says he's trying to achieve", not what he's actually trying to achieve. Let's give this some time and see whether or not any of what appear to be insane policies work out in the long run, ye of little doubt.
