I don't trust organizations the have millions, if not billions of $$$ given to them, that ignore alternative treatments vs expensive big pharma recommendations.

Just a little common sense, and yes, due diligence on one's own research, before subjecting yourself to vaccines, drugs, approved or experimental that have known side effects.

Money corrupts ... remember, these are some of the same folks, that stated 'safe & effective', 'masks work' & 'men can be women' :cheesy:

Alternative treatments?

Do you mean all this crystal ball and "healer" Hokuspokus?

I hope not.

Indeed, you can cure some issues by avoiding "antibiotics", as it is famous to take in Thailand for the slightest cough even.

But you need a qualified doctor to give the diagnose and possible treatments.

It's the field of doctors and not nurses or wannabe healers.

And the docs will decide if alternative treatments might be successful or you have to start immediately with pharmaceutical medication.

Nature got many remedies but by misusing eg antibiotics it might not help.

In the orthopedic field there are indeed many treatments you can try before possible surgery.

Unfortunately Google or Facebook or Lazada adverts will tell you all those issues where you can cure yourself with vitamins and minerals.

It's a billion dollar business and many (fools) will fall for it.

According to the news, article Dr Jurai Wongsawat recommends an insect repellent as a protective measure against sandfly bites, not Ivermectin.

Two stages here.

1. Avoid being bitten. Use insect repellant and clothing to cover exposed areas.

2. If bitten THEN use Ivermectin.

If you expect to be in areas where sandfly bites could be possible, then thinking ahead is a good idea.
The Ivermectin needs to be more preplanned if travelling as an after bite precaution and the insect spray/lotion as a preventative.

People can be bitten despite having insecticide if you have been in water, sweating, wiping presprayed skin via clothing etc or missing skin during application.

Best to be prepared, especially if you know you are an insect magnet.

Maybe you would be dead if the German Company Biontech wouldn't have found the COVID vaccine.

The case fatality rate says otherwise.

I’m sure our bodies are loving the suppression of symptoms with petrochemical warfare.

suppress, override, numb, block, doesn’t matter WHY your body’s doing something; the goal is to shut it up fast and make the numbers look good on a printout.

joint pain? Block inflammation.  Insomnia?  Sedate the brain. Autoimmune disease? Crank down the immune system.  Rarely is it asked WHY the body is out of balance, or how to help restore it naturally.

symptoms aren’t malfunctions - they’re messages, warnings or even solutions the body is trying  to create in a distorted environment.  When you suppress them without addressing the root cause, you just drive the dysfunction deeper.

so yes, let’s fix high cholesterol with statins - next test looks great doesn’t it?  Let’s take all our beta blockers or ace inhibitors or proton pump inhibitors, does wonders for our health.
well, the pharma industry is certainly laughing all the way to the bank.

This is why I believe in holistic healing.  Yes, it’s more time consuming but keeps you healthy in the long run.

That's too general. Of course you can have influence on body functions

.....to a certain extent.

In case you can't get it working in a "normal" range you'll in the arms of docs and medicine however.

And to do the right steps in the right time is the field of docs. However, nobody can force you, but if your own healings are not working or your issues accelerated you'll need professional help. Not by social media.

maintain clean environments to fend off sandfly bites

So if a sandfly visits my spotlessly clean home, is it going to say, "fck that, I'm not going in there"? Asking for a friend!

Why does the Big pharma Bs narrative have to enter every conversation about health every time please give it a rest !

Use common sense/ engage brain

Stay healthy

Eat healthy

Use meds when necessary thats it!

Thats way to sensible for many of the neurotic-mental-case nutters on this thread...

As you say, be healthy, take precautions and if necessary, revert to medical expertise.

------

Sandflies are an absolute nuisance - whenever we hit the beach, my Son and I get hammered, thats even with repellant - we'll still both get about 10 bites over our legs and back etc an the bites itch like hell.

The issue with sandflies is that we just don't see them and only notice we've been 'attacked' after it happens, usually in the evening when the bites 'swell' up.

Antihistamine usually helps with the 'irritation' side of things - I was unaware of this parasitic illness, the article leading this thread has provided good information; something to keep in mind if we start feeling unwell have receiving a some bites at the beach.

The treatments for this disease also have horrific side effects. A book came out a few years ago, The Lost City of the Monkey God, which described an expedition to Honduras to uncover a heretofore unknown city. A good portion of the expedition came down with leishmaniasis, and the last part of the book details just how bad things can get. Look up the disease and then take a look at the images. It will tell you why to avoid this flesh eating disease at all costs.

The public is urged to wear protective clothing, use insect repellent, and maintain clean environments to fend off sandfly bites.

I'm not sure the 'maintain clean environments' is a valid preventative measure - People are getting bitten at the beaches, not in our homes.

This was my Google search:

https://www.google.com/search?q=treatment+of+leishmaniasis+in+humans&oq=treatment+of+leishmaniasis+in+humans&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqDggAEEUYJxg7GIAEGIoFMg4IABBFGCcYOxiABBiKBTINCAEQABiGAxiABBiKBTINCAIQABiGAxiABBiKBTIKCAMQABiABBiiBDIKCAQQABiABBiiBDIKCAUQABiABBiiBDIKCAYQABiABBiiBDIKCAcQABiABBiiBNIBCTEyMzU1ajBqN6gCCLACAfEFQ632BzJdmHk&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

None of the search results on the first page mention Ivermectin for treating leishmaniasis in humans.

Also the WHO report "Control of the leishmaniasis", which can be downloaded at

https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/WHO-TRS-949

does not mention Ivermectin for treating leishmaniasis in humans.

Personally, I would recommend following the advice of Dr Jurai Wongsawat mentioned in the OP:

You know professionals and scientists varns about ivermectin, so there's your proofs it is working! Elementary knownledge

Ivermectin cures everything, even stupidity, at least we could hope

AI overview:

Ivermectin has shown promise as a treatment for leishmaniasis, particularly cutaneous and visceral forms, in preclinical and clinical studies. While not currently a standard first-line treatment, research suggests ivermectin may be effective against Leishmania parasites and can be a viable alternative for treatment, especially in areas where other medications are less accessible or affordable.

"Maybe" "can be"  "not standard first line"

That says it all.

This is trying to refute what I posted? Once again your intellect is on show for all to see. How about doing some research before posting such rubbish. It's easy. It's called GOOGLE.

Ivermectin presents effective and selective antileishmanial activity in vitro and in vivo against Leishmania infantum and is therapeutic against visceral leishmaniasis

From what I'm seeing Ivermectin doesn't have these severe adverse side-effects and in addition is virtually free. This still though is a very uncommon parasitic infection.
