The White House lashed out Friday after being called out over its misleading suggestion that the Iran war enjoyed majority support among Americans, and to such an extent that one target of the White House’s fury hit back with a particularly scathing rebuttal. On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed that “Americans agree that Operation Epic Fury is an overwhelming success,” sharing a White House press release that included several polls showing the war’s favorability. As countless critics noted, however, the White House’s release only focused on “MAGA Republicans,” who make up less than 20% of Americans.
